The story of Chandni, a middle-class resident of Bhopal, and Prem, an unusual ghazal singer from an upper-middle-class family, is told in Ek Vivaah... Aisa Bhi. Chandni's mother passed away when she was 15 years old, and her siblings are both quite young. When Chandni and Prem first run into one other, it was to prepare for a ghazal tournament. Families get together and approve the marriage. At first, Chandni plans to leave the house and her siblings in the care of her paternal uncle. However, she later changes her mind after seeing that her shady uncle and aunt just care about the house and don't give a damn about her siblings. Prem, who has also achieved fame as a ghazal singer, makes a pledge to wait for her and help her with her problems.
Chandni gives up her goal of becoming a singer in favour of starting private instruction. She also performs singing for money at weddings and events. Years go by, and her siblings are now adults. Her sibling earns an excellent job after graduating with honours. He demands that Chandni turn over all of the duties to him.
She demands that he wed Natasha, his longtime girlfriend. Natasha is from a wealthy family, so he assumes she won't comprehend their way of life. He nevertheless marries her. Chandni and Prem decide to be married since they think that Anuj and Natasha would now take care of the family home. However, Chandni's issues never seem to get better. Natasha, the wife of Chandni's brother, insisted on leading a separate life from her husband while rejecting tradition.
Chandni is urged to marry Prem by Prem's elderly mother, who also wants to see her son get married. Chandni, who has already sent her brother and his wife away to live apart, feels unable to abandon her sister. She wishes to send her sister to a foreign country for more education. For the sake of his mother, she begs Prem to put her behind him and get married.
The student of Chandni who has moved in with his family overseas consents to assist with setting up Chandni's sister's academic plans. Then his mother had the idea to arrange their marriage. Chandni concurs and says she'll follow up with a pilgrimage. Anuj, on the other hand, feels helpless without his sisters. Natasha's father helps her to recognise her error and the value of family.
Natasha and Anuj eventually return home when their younger sister marries. Chandni is no longer held accountable for her duties. Finally transporting Chandni to his house, Prem returns with his mother. Prem and Chandni's marriage is arranged, and they are shown singing together in a show, indicating that they had a happy ending.
