Dombivli Fast is a drama movie that Nishikanth Kamat directed in the Marathi language in 2005. It is the narrative of a working-class banker, Madhav Apte, a regular, law-abiding and honest guy who experiences daily irritation with the unfairness and dishonesty that prevails in all walks of his life. The movie shows Apte's meltdown as he approaches his tipping point and his subsequent vigilante-style rampage through Mumbai to put things right. The film stars Sandeep Kulkarni, Shilpa Tulaskar and Sandesh Jadhav in lead roles.

Madhav Apte, his wife Alka, son Rahul, and daughter Prachi lead lower-middle-class lifestyles in the Dombivli neighbourhood of Mumbai. He takes the Dombivli Fast local rail to get home after each day's commute to Nariman Point, where he works. The things he detested the most were lying, corruption, and dishonesty. He had strong beliefs and principles and lived his life accordingly. He would dispute and fight whenever he witnessed wrongdoing or corruption, whether it was with his wife, the teacher of his daughter, or even his boss. Madhav's uncompromising manner had Alka jaded, and in a moment of rage, she had warned him that his morals and beliefs would only matter if he could alter society. Alka had no idea how much of an impact her remarks would have on Madhav.

The conflict between Madhav and everyone who broke the law and was on the wrong side of the law then began. His activities soon caused a significant change and shocked the entire city. How long, though, will Madhav be able to effect this shift in society? And how far will Madhav be able to bring about change? Everyone who finds his path of virtue too demanding pushes him into a corner, and at some point in the future, he loses it. He goes on a rampage in an effort to fix anything that goes against his values, causing mayhem on the streets of Mumbai until he gets encountered in the climax of the film.
