An Indian Hindi television programme called Dhhai Kilo Prem debuted on Star Plus on April 3, 2017.  Ekta and Shobha Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms are in charge of producing the show.  From Mondays through Saturdays, the series aired during the Star Dopahar (afternoon) programming block. On September 30, 2017, when the afternoon programming block was eliminated, the series came to an end.It stars Meherzan Mazda, Anjali Anand, Alice Kaushik, Nandini Gupta, Kiran Karmarkar, and Manasi Joshi Roy.

The narrative recounts the experience of Piyush and Dipika, two obese people. Even though they were both married, Piyush despises Dipika. They finally fall in love after going through a lot.

This odd love story between Deepika and Piyush is set in Agra. While Piyush is concerned about his weight, Deepika doesn't care about her appearance.

The two major characters are overweight, but they hold divergent opinions on their weight. Their perspectives on life diverge. While Piyush wants to find a partner like actress Deepika Padukone and is eager to visit the gym to get back in shape for the sake of finding love, Deepika is carefree and wants a guy who enjoys eating as much as she does.

The fact that the two receive harsh criticism from both their family and their relatives in addition to their neighbours and friends makes it difficult to watch. The character played by Kishwer Merchantt mouths words that is more dramatic than it is. She calls Deepika "moti chamdi" and criticises her (thick skinned).

Deepika's mother worries about her marriage and Piyush's father's profession in a very usual manner. Why all the commotion when these problems are present in every household, including those without obese children? Furthermore, no one anticipates middle-class parents to refer to their children as jokers, dharti ka bhojs, bhains, etc. The dialogue in the show so appears forced and purposeful, intended only to produce an effect.

The show has a really vintage vibe to it and is set in Agra. It might be difficult for a spectator from today to identify with the settings and familial structure shown in the story.
