Detective Nani is a Hindi drama movie, which can be termed as detective fiction and children's movie.  The movie is based on Usha Dutt, a widow from Mumbai, who resides in the Gulmohar Complex with her daughter Priya Sinha, a divorcee, and granddaughter Anjali. 

In the movie Detective Nani, Somesh, Usha's son, depart for the United States with his wife and leaves their young kid, Nakul, behind. She notifies other residents when she sees someone fall from an upper story but nobody is discovered. As she keeps looking at that floor, she spots a tiny girl youngster. She knocks on the door under the guise of receiving an invitation for Anjali's birthday and is greeted by Tara Yadav, who informs her that she and her husband, Raj, are the only residents because they don't have any children. Unconvinced, she alerts the police, who declined to intervene, and continues to spy with the help of her grandkids and other neighbors. Then a mysterious man begins to call her, prompting a panicked Priya to call the police and report that her mother and her nephew are missing.

Detective Nani was released in the year 2009 on the 22nd of May. Detective Nani is also available on OTT platforms like Amazon Prime Video. The movie is as long as 2 hours and 20 minutes.
