In their first collaboration as directors, Pravin Tarde and Pranit Kulkarni created the 2015 drama film Deool Band in the Indian Marathi language. It went on sale on July 31, 2015. In addition to Girija Joshi and Gashmeer Mahajani playing the principal parts, Mohan Joshi plays Swami Samarth, who is thought to be an incarnation of Lord Dattatreya. It tells the tale of a scientist who rejects the existence of god. It stars Gashmeer Mahajani, Girija Joshi, Mohan Joshi, Mohan Agashe, Nivedita Saraf, and Shweta Shinde in important roles.
NASA's youngest scientist is Dr. Raghav Shastri (Gashmeer Mahajani), who is of Indian descent. When he returns home, he discovers that his native region is populated almost exclusively by devout believers. Raghav, however, is not one of them. The prime minister personally encouraged him to participate in a radio frequency initiative that will improve the nation's coastal security.
His security team is informed by their sources that a terrorist gang commanded by Rashida and Hafiz has come in Pune with the intention of killing Raghav. They then decline to book him a hotel room and move him to an upscale neighbourhood in Pune. He feels upset when he discovers that Swami Samarth, a god in whom his parents had great faith, has a temple within the boundaries of his society. In reality, Raghav and his mother are estranged, despite his lying to his wife Radha and daughter Popo about her death. He's been blaming her for his father Damodar Shastri's demise for a very long time.
He therefore makes the decision to complete his project as soon as possible and depart. He receives a cordial welcome from Dr. Vyas, his superior, at ISRO (Mohan Agashe). The involvement of his adversary Dr. Ballar (Sunil Abhyankar), who had previously failed in this endeavour, has angered him. Hafiz attempts to murder Raghav as he is on a family outing by detonating a bomb in a mall. He overlooks the explosives inside the rickshaw, which the Anti-Terrorism Squad later seizes and uses to start looking for Hafiz and his squad. Raghav is angry to learn that his community is celebrating a ceremony honouring Swami Samarth the evening before the project is submitted to ISRO.
He storms the event in an irate manner and causes a disturbance. He is then handled roughly and abused by the locals. He calls Dr. Vyas in revenge and threatens to give him the frequency project in exchange for permanently closing the temple. In order to shut down the temple, Dr. Vyas is compelled to summon the police. Unbeknownst to Raghav, his daughter accidently locks his project with a password that Raghav cannot recall while he is away. But the huge shock comes when God Swami Samarth (Mohan Joshi) visits Raghav to put his atheism to the test.
The following day, Raghav tells ISRO about his issue, and they give him three days to offer a solution or risk losing his contract. Dr. Deshpande, a colleague of Raghav's, suggests that he contact Dr. Satyajit (Sunil Barve), a renowned hacker. To unlock his project, he instructs him to travel to Andhra Pradesh's Sriharikota. In the meantime, Raghav's mother appears and introduces herself to her granddaughter and daughter-in-law. Unwillingly, Raghav departs for Sriharikota with his family without notifying his security team.
