Company is a 2002 Indian gangster movie in Hindi that was helmed by Ram Gopal Varma. Ajay Devgn, Mohanlal, Manisha Koirala, Vivek Oberoi, and Antara Mali appear in the movie. It is a follow-up to Satya and the second movie in the Gangster trilogy. Company centres on Chandu, a henchman for a mobster by the name of Malik, with whom he develops a connection until it eventually deteriorates as a result of tension between them.
Chandrakant "Chandu" Nagre enlists in the Mumbai underworld. He gradually picks up the trade and boosts the gang's revenues, which causes him to become friendly with Malik, the gang's head. In the backseat of a car, Malik and Chandu murder Saeed and his brother Anis, competitors from another group. To seize dominance of the underground, Malik embarks on a deadly killing spree, eliminating all of his rivals. With Malik's approval, Inspector Rathod is assassinated. Rathod used to harass and mistreat Chandu while he was imprisoned. Malik and Chandu quarrel as a contract killing is being carried out; Chandu prevents the intentional car accident and loses Malik's favour.
A politician who wants to remove a strong contender for the position of Home Minister by using Malik's gang signed the deal. Chandu objects to the assassination, a manufactured car accident, but Malik orders it nevertheless because he can no longer rely on Chandu. The gap between Malik and Chandu gets wider. Veerappalli Sreenivasan, the police commissioner of Mumbai, leverages the rift to control the mafia. Chandu and Malik grow to be fierce rivals.
Two parts of Mumbai's once-dominant gang Company start a full-scale war as Chandu takes revenge for the killing of Warsi, an apprentice and Chandu's old buddy. Malik and Chandu kill almost every gang member of each other's gangs. Sreenivasan is scrutinised, but he and his troops understand that this fight is making it simpler for his division to get rid of Malik and Chandu because many gangsters are being slain.
Malik hires hitmen to assassinate Chandu during the war's hard chase in Kenya, but Chandu survives despite being seriously hurt. Chandu is persuaded by Sreenivasan to return to Mumbai so he can wage war against Malik there while also aiding the police in bringing the mafia under check. In prison, Chandu murders the politician who gave the order for the contract assassination. Even when Chandu and Malik reach a truce, Chandu never relinquishes the order he gave to one of his assistants, Koda Singh, to assassinate Malik. Koda also murders Malik in Hong Kong at close range while being detained immediately. Sreenivasan informs Chandu of the murder, which causes him to be shocked. Sreenivasan then convinces Chandu to serve the remainder of his life in prison.
Company, which was released on April 12th, 2002, received favourable reviews. It made INR 25.02 crores in revenue, proving its commercial viability. At the 48th Filmfare Awards, the movie took home six prizes, including Best Actress for Manisha Koirala, Best Supporting Actor and Best Male Debut for Vivek Oberoi, and Critics Award for Best Actor for Ajay Devgn.
