A commentator is someone who covers a sporting event and informs TV and radio listeners/viewers appropriately. The role of the commentator is to closely follow the game and highlight the most significant developments while also conveying the excitement of the game to listeners with emotion.

 Although most people don't think the job is difficult, it may actually be very demanding, especially in faster-paced games like football. Good commentators are typically able to develop their own fan bases.

A candidate for a commentator position may find it very helpful if they have a degree in media or entertainment, such as in mass media or broadcast journalism. While a Master's in a related field may occasionally be necessary, a Bachelor's degree is frequently sufficient. 

A commentator must also demonstrate good voice and emotion management, good speaking abilities, and the ability to describe a game with genuine excitement. Naturally, sports enthusiasts are favoured for the post. Additionally, since men make up a sizable majority of commentators and women typically struggle to find employment in this field, gender tends to be a factor in this profession.

The remuneration for commentators varies widely, primarily dependent on the employer and the skill and presentation of the pundit. Beginner commentators get between $25,000 and $34,000 a year, while those with some expertise might make between $75,000 and $90,000.
