Bigg Boss Tamil Overview

The reality programme Bigg Boss Tamil is based on the John de Mol Jr.-created original Dutch Big Brother model. Bigg Boss Tamil, as contrast to the original Big Brother, has contestants from both the rich and the poor. The contestants, also referred to as "housemates," reside in a home that is cut off from the outside world.

One housemate gets "evicted" (removed) from the house each week as a result of anonymous internal voting by the housemates and external voting by television audiences. The final four or five housemates vote to choose the show's winner during the penultimate week. The show's producers are represented by the titular Bigg Boss character, who acts as an ever-present authoritative figure. He frequently engages the residents of the house by posing problems and posing queries.

The Indian Tamil-language version of the reality TV show Bigg Boss is called as BB or Bigg Boss. The show uses the Big Brother model created by Dutch production company Endemol. Six seasons of Bigg Boss have been released over the course of five years, with Kamal Haasan serving as host for all six. The show is broadcast by Star Vijay and streamed on Disney+ Hotstar.

On June 25, 2017, the first season's debut aired. The 6th Season, which debuted on October 9, 2022, featured members of the general population and celebrities as housemates.
