Tanveer Bookwala of Ding Entertainment created the 2020 Hindi-language crime-thriller web series Asur for Voot. Arshad Warsi, Barun Sobti, Sharib Hashmi, Riddhi Dogra, and Anupriya Goenka play the key characters in the series. Amey Wagh, Sanjeev Sharma, and Pawan Chopra play supporting roles, among others. The context for the series is a contemporary serial killer with ties to religion.

Asur, which is set against the spiritual city of Varanasi, follows forensic expert-turned-teacher Nikhil Nair as he goes back to his beginnings at the Central Bureau of Investigation and teams up with his former boss Dhananjay Rajpoot to pursue a deadly serial murderer. What happens next is a mix of mystery, mythology, and the killings of some people who aren't even connected.

Asur is a critically acclaimed web series, with most critics applauding the story and the conviction with which the actors play their respective roles. Arshad Warsi makes his OTT debut with Asur and delivers an outstanding performance. It is also considered as one of the best web series of 2020 and its immense popularity and cliff-hanger climax assure the viewers of an upcoming season.
