Airlift is an Indian Hindi Language Action Thriller Movie. It was produced by Nikkhil Advani, Monisha Adwani, Aruna Bhatia, Bhushan Kumar, Gaurav Nanda, Krishan Kumar, and Vikram Malhotra under the banner of Abundantia Entertainment, Cape of Good Films, Emmay Entertainment, Hari Om Entertainment, T-Series Films, Viacom18 Motion Pictures. Akshay Kumar played the main lead role. Actors like Rits Badiani, Avtaar Gill, and Shekhar Shukla also played remarkable roles in this movie. The airlift was released on January 22, 2016, with a running time of 125 minutes. 

The plot is based on the true story of a Malayali businessman who lives and works in Kuwait, Mathunny Mathews. Its marketing was crucial in terms of promotion and working with the airline Air India, which made a significant contribution to the record-breaking evacuation of Indians during the war. Both domestically and internationally, the movie became a box office smash. Over 2.28 billion dollars have been made from Airlift in international markets, and the cast and background music have won accolades. The movie is included in the International Film Festival of India's 2016 Indian Panorama section.

The narrative of Airlift revolves around Indian businessman Ranjit Katiyal and his family living a happy and prosperous life in Kuwait. But when Iraq invades Kuwait, he makes the decision to put his life in danger to help his stranded countrymen. When Saddam Hussein's Iraq invaded Kuwait, triggering the start of the Gulf War, he organises the flight of Indians stationed there.
