Running a playgroup nursery in Colaba, Naina Jaiswal calls the police to inform them that she has taken captive sixteen of her students and has certain requests. When pregnant ACP Catherine Alvarez and her aide Lokhande arrive at the scene, they initially believe they have been the victims of a joke until Naina fires a bullet into the air to disprove their suspicions. 

While Alvarez is speaking, Lokhande rings up Naina to inquire about her reason for clearing the area of civilians and requests extra force. Naina makes the police aware of her demands and promises to leave the kids if her requests are met.
