Career
Shiney was able to snag his first Pepsi commercial after graduating from college. This immediately made him a candidate for the best advertising firms. Being inundated with offers, Ahuja participated in over 40 commercials that year, including ones for Citibank and Cadbury. Also, he appeared in the British-Asian band "Stereo Nation's" music video for "Pyar ho Gaya."
Shiney was summoned for an audition by Sudhir Mishra for the role of Sidharth Tyabji in the Kay Kay movie Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi after Sudhir watched Shiney in the Pepsi commercial. Mishra also put Shiney through the Vikram Malhotra audition process at Shiney's request. Shiney made his acting debut in the movie after being chosen among more than 200 applicants for the role of Vikram Malhotra. After receiving positive reviews, the movie went on to screen at up to 12 film festivals in a six-month period.
They included the River to River in Florence, River to River in Berlin, Bite The Mango in Bradford, the Commonwealth Festival in Manchester, the Pacific Rim Festival, and the River to River in India (Goa) (California). In 2005, the movie received little publicity but had a significant national impact in India. A number of best actor (debut) awards for the year, including Filmfare, Zee Cine, and Stardust, went to Ahuja.
After that, he starred alongside Kangana Ranaut in Woh Lamhe and Mahesh Bhatt's Gangster, two well-known commercial films. The next movies were Living in a Metro and Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Ek Accident, in which Soha Ali Khan co-stars, and Har Pal, starring Preity Zinta, are two of his unreleased movies.Shiney starred alongside John Abraham, Shruti Hassan, Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, Naseeruddin Shah, Dimple Kapadia, and Paresh Rawal in Anees Bazmee's Welcome Back in 2015.

Ahuja was taken into custody in June 2009 on suspicion of raping, holding, and endangering his domestic servant, who was 19 years old. He was charged with rape and making a death threat under Sections 376 and 506 of the Indian Criminal Code, respectively. His maid (the victim) changed her testimony throughout the trial and informed the judge that she had never been sexually assaulted. However, the judge thought the maid had lied under duress, and Ahuja was given a seven-year prison term in 2011.
