On December 6, 2013, Rahul Tewatia played against Karnataka at the Bansi Lal Cricket Stadium. The all-around cricketer from Haryana made his debut for his home state's team in the 2013–14 Ranji Trophy.
His First Class career started slowly as he only scored 17 runs in his two at-bat appearances. Later, on February 25, 2017, he made his List A debut for Haryana in the Vijay Hazare Trophy for the 2016–17 season. He has scored 190 runs and taken 17 wickets in 7 FC games, but he has scored 484 runs and made 91* his highest score in 21 List-A games.
IPL Career
Rahul Tewatia made his IPL debut with Rajasthan Royals in 2014; he scored 15 runs off of 8 balls in the same game. Tewatia earned a three-crore contract with the Delhi Capitals thanks to a stellar domestic campaign. He received the same pay for the next season. Later, Tewatia was transferred from Delhi Capitals to Rajasthan Royals in preparation for the 2020 IPL. He felt somewhat at home.

Tewatia's poor performance in the chase (first eight runs off 19 deliveries) caused Samson, who scored yet another half-century, to lose focus. However, the runs from the game's final four overs were the deciding factor. Tewatia single-handedly altered the entire trajectory of the chase with five sixes off Sheldon Cottrell's 18th over. It was an incredible effort that ultimately resulted in the biggest run chase in IPL history, and Tewatia finally shone on the international stage.
