Paresh Rawal Struggles

Paresh Rawal with Wife Swaroop Sampat

Many people are unaware that although Paresh Rawal was still having trouble as an actor, his wife Swaroop was far more well-liked and stable. The finest aspect is that he accepted his wife's accomplishment without any issues. Paresh had only been employed by the Bank of Baroda for three days, but he had always been self-reliant with money. He never approached his parents for money, instead of borrowing from his wife or friends whenever he needed it and paying them back later.

The actor has repeatedly demonstrated his versatility, from the dramatic films of the 1980s, where he was primarily cast in negative roles, to the 1990s, when he started to emerge as a lucrative performer with Sardar and the National Award-winning Woh Chokri, to the 2000s, when he switched to comedies with Hera Pheri. Paresh Rawal claimed that his significant career change occurred in 1994's Sardar, in which he played freedom hero Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

In the 1990s, he also appeared in the cult comedy Andaz Apna Apna in a double role.

In the film Hera Pheri, Rawal played the dimwitted, boisterous, and kind-hearted Marathi landlord Baburao Ganpatrao Apte, who accepts Raju (Akshay Kumar) and Shyam (Sunil Shetty) as paying tenants. Rawal's performance was a major reason for the film's widespread success. He won the Filmfare Best Comedian Award for his performance. He reprised his role as Baburao in the sequel to the successful film Phir Hera Pheri (2006).

In the popular 2002 movie Aankhen, which also starred Amitabh Bachchan, Aditya Pancholi, Akshay Kumar, Arjun Rampal, and Sushmita Sen, Rawal played one of three blind bank robbers. For the remainder of the 2000s, Rawal was primarily seen in comedic multi-starrers, usually as the lead character in films like Awara Paagal Deewana (2002), Hungama (2003), Hulchul (2004), Garam Masala (2005), Deewane Huye Paagal (2005), Malamaal Weekly (2006), Golmaal: Fun Unlimited (2006), Chup Chup Ke (2006), Bhagam Bhag (2007), Shankar (2009). In the 2010 honour-killing-themed film Aakrosh, Rawal played the lead role.
