Kings XI Glenn Maxwell, a player from Australian all-rounder who recently got engaged to his partner Vini Raman, would concur with this based on personal experience. Because Maxwell was the one who fell on his knees when all else had failed, converting his ex-girlfriend into his present fiancée and future wife.
Vini tweeted a photo of herself with Maxwell in August 2017, which sparked the first round of rumors about their 'friendship.'In the photo, they appear to be close and at ease with one another. And although little is known about their early relationship, it's thought that Maxwell and the Melbourne Stars, a domestic cricket team he plays for, were where the two initially met.
Vini is a Tamilian of Indian descent who was born and raised in Melbourne and holds a pharmacist license. In reality, Vini has always been the one to frequently post Instagram images of herself and her best buddy Maxwell along with occasionally mysterious messages. In February of last year, Maxwell brought Vini to the Australian Cricket Awards, and he even shared their first Instagram photo.
However, Maxwell made things official by announcing his engagement to girlfriend Vini Raman on Instagram early this year, shortly after taking Vini as his plus-one to the Australian Cricket Awards for the second consecutive year.
In March 2022, the daring Australian batter and his Indian-born bride Vini Raman got married. The pair wed for the first time by Christian tradition on March 18, 2022, and then on March 27, 2022, they exchanged vows in the traditional Tamil manner.
Glenn Maxwell: Domestic Career
Maxwell joined the Victorian team in 2009 to play domestic cricket. Later, in 2010, he participated in the Hong Kong Cricket Sixes competition and led a victorious campaign for Australia, winning Player of the Tournament honors. He was then chosen to represent the Australian Institute of Sports in the 2010 Emerging Players Tournament.
In the limited-overs format, he rose to prominence as a member of the Victorian side. Then he ran the quickest fifty in the Marsh One-Day Cup, an Australian domestic one-day competition. Later, he participated in the 2011 Emerging Players Tournament once again.
Glenn traveled to England in 2012 to play both club and league cricket with Hampshire Second XI and South Wilts. Maxi was called up for the national team as a result of his efforts this season. Maxi, who was playing for the Hampshire Second XI, hammered fiercely against the bowlers and scored 115 runs off of 31 deliveries in the game against the MCC Young.
Maxwell recorded his best bowling stats in first-class cricket, 4/42, against South Australia in a Shield match.
Glenn Maxwell: International Career
On August 25, 2012, in the UAE, he played in his first game against a cricket squad representing Afghanistan. In the second ODI, he contributed significantly to his nation's victory and then scored his first half-century in an international match.
On September 5, 2012, Maxwell played Pakistan in his first T20I match while on the same tour. He was selected shortly after to represent Australia in the 2012 ICC World Twenty20.
He was chosen for the journey to India, where he played his first Test match on March 2. He was unable to live up to his expectations and as a result, he did not get many more chances in the longest format. He was chosen to participate in the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy. Before Australia was eliminated from the tournament early on, he scored 61 runs in a few matches.
He was included in the squad for the 2014 ICC World Twenty20 after an outstanding showing in the 2014 IPL. He amassed 147 runs with a staggering strike rate of 210 and was chosen by the ICC for the Team of the Tournament.
He then played for a second time in English domestic tournaments before playing Test cricket once more in the United Arab Emirates. He performed poorly once more. He was chosen to play in the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup, though, as a result of his limited-overs cricket accomplishments.
During this competition, he scored the quickest ODI century by an Australian and the second-fastest World Cup century. With this performance, he rose to the Top 10 of the ICC ODI Batsmen Rankings.
Ultimately, Australia won the tournament at home, and Glenn was selected for the ICC's Team of the Tournament. The Allan Border Medal for the Men's T20I Player of the Year was handed to him by Cricket Australia in the same year.
Glenn began the T20I innings for the first time against Sri Lanka in 2016, becoming the first batsman to do so while scoring 100 runs. He hit 145* from 65 balls, which at the time was the second-highest score for a single player. The Australians' 263/6 score, the greatest team total in T20Is, was a result of these innings. He received another Allan Border Medal for being the Men's ODI Player of the Year, capping off a fantastic 2016.
Maxwell became just the second Australian (after Shane Watson) and thirteenth cricketer overall to record an international century in all three formats in 2017 when he struck his first Test century against India in India. Later in the year, he participated in just one game of the ICC Champions Trophy.
In the ODI series against India in September 2017, Maxwell struggled. Maxi struggled in the following two ODIs despite leading the Australians in scoring in the first ODI with 39 runs. He was consequently left off the roster for the upcoming games, and Australia suffered a 4-1 series loss.
Maxwell was passed over for the first Test of the 2017–18 Ashes in favor of Shaun Marsh. Despite being selected for the game due to injuries to Marsh and Warner, he ultimately did not take part in the Test.
After being passed over for a spot in the ODIs in England, Maxwell's parents were understandably angered by captain Steve Smith's comments against him during a press conference. He was chosen to play against New Zealand and England in 2018 after a stellar BBL 2017–18. He became the only Australian to have more than one T20I century thanks to his century in this series.
Maxwell received the Men's T20I Player of the Year title from Cricket Australia in 2019 at the Allan Border Medal Ceremony. In the 2019 T20 series against India, Maxwell played the game for which he is renowned.
Maxi scored fifty in the first game and then hit 113* in the subsequent match to achieve three tonnes in T20Is, becoming the third cricketer overall and the first Australian to do it. As a result of his 169 runs in 2 innings, he was named player of the game and player of the series. Maxwell performed poorly at the 2019 World Cup in England and Wales, scoring just 176 runs in 10 games.
Two years later, the T20 World Cup returned in 2021, and it was intended to be a great event, but he failed miserably! In the five games, he only managed to score 68 runs, with just one of those runs going for 30 or more.
The Australian power hitter's year hasn't been terrific either. In the 15 T20Is, he scored nearly 200 runs at an average of 15. In the ODI format, he has amassed less than 300 runs at an average of 30, with only one fifty to his credit.
Maxwell will get the chance to show his real colors and establish his value in the international community at the 2022 ICC T20 World Cup in Australia.
Glenn Maxwell: IPL Career and BBL Career
Maxwell secured a contract with the Melbourne Renegades to participate in the Big Bash League's debut season in 2011–12. Before getting hurt and missing the rest of the competition, he played six innings and scored 124 runs for them.
When Delhi Daredevils (now known as Delhi Capitals) signed him as a replacement during the 2012 IPL season, he also received his first IPL contract. He even represented Hampshire in the now-defunct Champions League Twenty20 the same year.
He joined the Melbourne Stars for the BBL 2012–2013 season. In 7 games throughout the season, he scored 145 runs, including a fifty, and claimed 1 wicket.
Maxwell was purchased for $1 million US by the eventual winner Mumbai Indians, making him the most expensive player in the 2013 IPL auctions (INR 53,685,500). Even yet, he only participated in 3 of their matches while scoring 36 runs. As a result, they decided not to use the Australian for the following edition.
Then, after being acquired by them for INR 6 crores, he transferred to Kings XI Punjab. He ended up becoming the team's third-best run-scorer overall and their highest run-scorer in the tournament. It worked wonderfully for the team. In 16 games, he scored 552 runs at a strike rate of 136, including 5 fifty-sevens. He took a wicket in the competition as well.
Maxi played in 6 matches for the Renegades during the 2014–15 BBL season, scoring 118 runs, including a fifty, and taking 2 wickets. With only 145 runs in 11 games and 2 wickets taken, he appeared to be a pale imitation of the IPL Maxwell of 2014.
He became the command of Kings XI two years later, in 2017. With more accountability, he performed better, scoring 310 runs at a strike rate of 173 in 14 games while also grabbing 7 team-productive wickets. However, he failed to score in a majority of contests.
He wanted to make a statement to the Australian team management, who had overlooked him for the ODI series in England, during the 2017–18 BBL season. He put up impressive figures for the Men in Red, scoring 299 runs in 9 games at an average of 37 and a strike rate of 154. He was given a spot in Australia's upcoming series as a result.
In the 2018 IPL, Maxi relocated back to the Delhi franchise. In 12 games, he amassed 169 runs at a strike rate of 140 and claimed 5 wickets as they ended last in the points standings.
Maxwell elected not to play in the 2019 IPL season to concentrate on the World Cup. Next season, KXIP, now known as Punjab Kings, will purchase him for an astounding 10.75 crores. The purchase did not turn out well for the team because Maxwell utterly flopped, scoring just 108 runs in 13 games without hitting a single six-run ball.
Maxwell was acquired by Royal Challengers Bangalore for a staggering 14.25 crore rupees during the 2021 auction, and boy did he not let the red team down. Maxi had a strike rate of 144 and scored 513 runs in 15 games, contributing significantly to RCB's season-long triumph. The franchise retained Maxwell for 11 crore rupees in the major auction the next year and was counting on him to repeat his previous year's magical performance. However, Maxwell wasn't at his best in the 2022 season, scoring just one half-century and totaling 301 runs in 13 games.
Maxwell secured a contract with the Melbourne Renegades to participate in the Big Bash League's debut season in 2011–12. Before getting hurt and missing the rest of the competition, he played six innings and scored 124 runs for them.
He joined the Melbourne Stars for the BBL 2012–2013 season. In 7 games throughout the season, he scored 145 runs, including a fifty, and claimed 1 wicket. Maxi scored 118 runs, including a fifty, and took 2 wickets in 6 matches for the Renegades during the 2014–15 BBL season.
He wanted to make a statement to the Australian team management, who had overlooked him for the ODI series in England, during the 2017–18 BBL season. He put up outstanding figures for the Men in Green, scoring 299 runs in 9 games at an average of 37 and a strike rate of 154. He was given a spot in Australia's upcoming series as a result.
The Victoria big hitter has been fairly reliable over the past four seasons, scoring 300+ runs each year. He finished the BBL 11 with 468 runs and a staggering 159.73 strike rate! By smashing 154* from 64 balls last season, Maxi also shattered the record for the highest individual score by a batsman in the BBL. Since then, Maxwell has changed significantly, and he now leads the Melbourne Stars in the BBL.
