Divya Spandana better known by her screen name Ramya is an Indian politician and actress. She was a Lok Sabha Member of Parliament from Mandya Karnataka. She primarily works in Kannada but also in Tamil films. Ramya has received two Filmfare South Awards a Udaya Award and a Karnataka State Film Award.

Ramya made her acting debut in the Kannada film Abhi in 2003. Although she has worked in Tamil and Telugu films on occasion her work in the Kannada film industry has garnered her more attention. She received the Udaya Award and the Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her performances in Amrithadhare (2005) and Tananam Tananam (2006) respectively. 

Her portrayal of the titular heroine in the 2011 romantic drama Sanju Weds Geetha earned her critical acclaim and a Karnataka State Film Award for Best Actress. Ramya has also appeared in the 2011 fantasy blockbuster Katari Veera Surasundarangi as well as other commercially successful films such as the 2016 epic-fantasy Nagarahavu.

Until now all we know about Raphael is that he lives and works in Portugal. He most likely met Divya Spandana while she was filming in Europe. Polladhavan

Vetrimaran's directorial debut Polladhavan is a 2007 Indian Tamil-language action thriller film written and directed by him. The film which stars Dhanush and Divya Spandana is about a man whose life improves after he buys a bike only to be turned upside down when it is stolen.

G. V. Prakash Kumar composed three songs and the background score while Yogi B and Dhina each composed one song. Velraj directed the film's cinematography V. T. Vijayan edited it and Rambo Rajkumar choreographed the stunts. The movie was released on November 8 2007. 

It was a huge success and it helped popularise the Bajaj Pulsar among the youth. Because of its success the film was remade in a number of languages. G. V. Prakash Kumar composed three of the five songs on the soundtrack while rapper Yogi B and Dhina composed one each. Engeyum Eppodhum is a remix of the song of the same name from the 1979 film Ninaithale Inikkum.

Sanju Weds Geetha

Sanju Weds Geetha is a 2011 Indian Kannada-language romantic drama film directed and written by Nagashekar and produced by Pramod Narayan starring Srinagar Kitty and Ramya. The soundtrack was composed by Jassie Gift and the background score was composed by Sadhu Kokila. 
On April 1 2011 the film was released.

The film was a box-office success upon its initial release and received numerous critical acclaims and awards including the Karnataka State Film Awards Filmfare Awards South and Suvarna Film Awards in various categories. 

The film was remade in Bengali as Tomake Chai in 2017. Divya Spandana who is also known as Ramya played the role of Geeta in the movie. Her character is portrayed as an independent and confident girl who knows what she wants in life. She is not afraid to speak her mind and stand up for herself which makes her different from other girls. 

Divya Spandana's character in the film plays an essential role in the plot as she challenges Sanju to become a better person and realize his true potential. She is the driving force behind Sanju's transformation from a carefree young man to a responsible and mature adult.

Aryan

Aryan is a 2014 Kannada-language sports drama film from India. Initially directed by Late D. Rajendra Babu who died halfway through filming the film was handed over to Chi Guru Dutt. Dhruv Das produced the film which stars Shiva Rajkumar and Ramya under the banner Dreamweaver Entertainment. 

The plot revolves around Aryan (played by Shiva Rajkumar) an athletics coach. His protégé a sprint queen (played by Ramya) wins a major athletics competition. Against this backdrop the two have a love story. Aryan (Shiva Rajkumar) is a champion Indian athlete who watches as his protégé a sprint queen (Ramya) wins a major athletics event under the tutelage of an athletics coach. They have a romantic relationship. 

Before Ramya can achieve success as an athlete and Aryan can regain his credibility as a coach they must overcome obstacles such as hostility betrayal jealousy and lust. The presence of former Member of Parliament Ramya as lead actress alongside century star Shivarajakumar boosts the film's profile. 

This is their first and possibly final pairing of this kind. Ramya had announced her intention to leave the film industry. It's a special film for me and I want to leave on a high she says. Someday I might return as Shivanna's sister she speculated.
