Asees Kaur dreamed of becoming a playback singer since she was a child. She began singing Gurbani at the age of five. Tamanchey's Dildara Reprise marked her Bollywood debut. Since then she has collaborated on several Bollywood songs including Ve Maahi from Kesari Makhna from Drive Bandeya Re Bandeya and Tere Bin from Simmba Akh Lad Jave and Chogada from Loveyatri and Bolna from Kapoor & Sons.
She has appeared on several singing competition shows including Indian Idol and Awaz Punjab Di. Her song Raatan Lambiyan from Shershaah which she co-wrote with Tanishk Bagchi became a huge hit in 2021. She has received numerous honours including two Filmfare Awards and an IIFA Award.
