Akshara Haasan is an Indian actress scriptwriter and assistant director who predominantly works in the Tamil and Bollywood cinema industries. Mani Ratnam predicted that Haasan would star in his romantic drama Kadal alongside Gautham Karthik.

According to reports the former couple dated for four years. The son of renowned actor Rati Agnihotri Tanuj claimed that making his connection with Akshara public may have backfired.

Tanuj remarked of Akshara in an interview with the Bombay Times: I had met Akshara on an outdoor shoot in Kulu Manali when she had been with her mother actress Sarikaji. He added that after being together for almost four years they chose to end their relationship amicably after realizing it was not working. I believe that being honest about our relationship in public was one of the things that went wrong for us. We didn't hesitate to talk frankly about our connection. We were committed to being open about it but it ultimately backfired. Now I understand that we should just let our work speak for us and not discuss our personal lives.

After their breakup Tanuj and Akshara remained friends but things became unpleasant when her personal photos were published as he had previously stated in an interview. Tanuj had expressed disappointment that Akshara had not publicly defended him following the incident as many people had assumed he was responsible for the purported leak.

A lot of stuff began appearing in the media our relationship became tense and we stopped communicating. She might have had a motivation for doing that. But I had my reservations about her. The satirical drama film Shamitabh which was released in 2015 in Hindi was written and directed by R. Balki. Amitabh Bachchan Dhanush and debutante Akshara Haasan are the movie's main actors. Under their separate production banners Sunil Lulla Balki Rakesh Jhunjhunwala R. K. Damani Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan all worked together to produce the movie. The background music and soundtrack CD were written by Ilaiyaraaja and P. C. Sreeram was in charge of the filming.

Ilaiyaraaja composed both the background music and the soundtrack CD. On January 6th 2014 in Mumbai Illaiyaraaja started writing the music for the movie. A song in the movie featured Bachchan's vocal contribution. The song Stereophonic Sannata was taken from the Tamil film Johnny's Aasaiya Kaathula song.

Both critics and viewers had conflicting opinions about the movie. The Times of India's Srijana Mitra Das gave it 3.5 out of 5 stars and wrote Shamitabh has a doubly dramatic act but less feeling. On Indian Express the film received two stars. The movie received 2.5 stars from Rajeev Masand of IBNLive who said The promising picture comes undone by the curse of the second half. The Guardian described the movie as Amitabh Bachchan in warm but nonsensical satire and gave it middling reviews.

Akshara Haasan’s Movie Laali Ki Shaadi Mein Laaddoo Deewana (2017)

Manish Harishankar wrote and directed this Hindi-language romantic comedy-drama movie which was also produced by TP Aggarwal Rahul Aggarwal and Vishal Singh. Key characters in the movie are played by Vivaan Shah Akshara Haasan Gurmeet Choudhary and Kavita Verma. On February 20 2017 the movie's teaser posters were unveiled and on February 27 2017 the trailer debuted on YouTube. Critics and viewers alike gave the movie poor reviews after its April 7 2017 release. 

The Times of India critic Nihit Bhave gave the movie a 1.5 out of 5-star rating and stated that Akshara and Vivaan give horribly over-the-top performances. The film's budget is Rs 20 crores. The film has grossed $8.1 million at the box office.

Rajesh M. Selva and Kamal Haasan are the directors and producers of the 2019 Tamil-language action thriller movie Kadaram Kondan. Akshara Haasan and Abi Hassan play supporting roles alongside Vikram in the movie. Akshara Haasan’s movie Achcham Madam Naanam Payirppu (2022)

It is a 2022 adult drama movie in Tamil that was written directed and produced by Trendloud's debutant Raja Ramamurthy. In addition to Usha Uthup Malgudi Subha Anjana Jayaprakash Suresh Chandra Menon and George Maryan playing supporting roles the movie also stars Akshara Haasan. The 25th of March 2022 saw its premiere via Amazon Prime Video.

Susha wrote the music for the songs and the accompanying score and Madhan Karky wrote the lyrics.
