The ICC Women's Under 19 World Cup is an international cricket tournament organized by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for women under the age of 19. The debut year of the competition is 2023. The competition is designed to give young female cricketers a platform to showcase their skills on the global stage and to help develop the future stars of the women's game.


The tournament features teams from all over the world, including Australia, England, India, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies, and more. The tournament is held in various countries, and the venues chosen for the tournament are top-class cricket grounds that offer top-quality playing conditions for young cricketers.


The tournament was initially slated to take place in January 2021; however, owing to the COVID-19 epidemic, it was pushed back to December 2021. The ICC examined the potential of moving the tournament from its scheduled month of January 2021 to a later month of the same year in November 2020. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) stated in January 2021 that the competition would be held in December 2021; however, the match was postponed once more and rescheduled for January 2023. Geoff Allardice, the ICC's CEO, announced in January 2022 that the tournament was very much on the cards and that the ICC was starting the search for hosts.


ICC Women's Under 19 World Cup 2023 Qualification



South Africa, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, Ireland, New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, USA, West Indies, and Zimbabwe all qualified for the tournament automatically. 


After winning the Asia Qualifier, the United Arab Emirates became the first team to qualify from the regional groups. Indonesia qualified by winning a three-match series against Papua New Guinea in the East Asia-Pacific group. Rwanda qualified for the World Cup by winning the African Qualifiers. Rwanda has qualified for an ICC World Cup competition at any level for the first time.

For the competition, each club could choose a lineup of fifteen players, with the option to nominate additional non-traveling backups. On the 18th of October, 2022, England announced their roster as the first team.


ICC Women's Under 19 World Cup 2023 Match Format



Each team played the other team in their group once after the 16 teams were divided into four groups of four. The top three teams from each group went to the Super Six League round. Group A qualifying teams competed against two qualifying teams from Group D, while Group B qualifying teams competed against two qualifying teams from Group C.


At the Super Six League level, points won against teams that advanced from the first round of group play were carried over. The Super Six League semi-finals included the top two clubs from each league.
