Keep reading to know more about Devi Adi Parashakti cast, Devi Adi Parashakti OTT, watch Devi Adi Parashakti online, Devi Adi Parashakti Instagram, Devi Adi Parashakti updates and more. The Hindu books the Shiva Purana, the Devi-Bhagavata Purana, the Markandeya Purana, and pan-Indian folktales of the Goddess serve as the foundation for the mythical television series Devi Adi Parashakti. The show was developed by Siddharth Kumar Tewary, and it was produced by Swastik Productions under the direction of Loknath Pandey and Manish Singh. Devi Adi Parashakti, as well as her incarnations Goddess Sati and Goddess Parvati, are portrayed by Rati Pandey. Lord Shiva, played by Tarun Khanna, was Devi's spouse, while Devi's brother, Lord Vishnu, was played by Kanan Malhotra. Sonia Singh plays the main antagonist, Goddess Diti, in the programme. It also stars Aleya Ghosh and Himanshu Bamezai in important roles. The story opens with Shiva's inquiries about The Self and his discovery that Vishnu, Brahma, and he were all created by the Supreme Goddess Adi Parashakti. In a feast put on by Brahma's sons like Daksha and Narada to honour their father, Shiva shatters Brahma's conceit by cutting his fifth head. She emerges from the severed head and exposes Her true nature to the Tridevas. She then takes on three different personas—Saraswati, who marries Brahma, Lakshmi, who marries Vishnu, and Shakti, who marries Shiva—and stays with each of them in their various abodes. Then, Daksha, the son of Brahma, marries Rishi Kashyapa to his two daughters, Diti and Aditi.Devas like Devraj Indra and the Pancha Bhoota Devas—Surya, Varuna, Vayu, Agni, and Prithvi—are born from Aditi. While Diti gives birth to Daityas or demons because she is envious of her sister. Svarga for Devas and Patala for Asuras are created by Brahma Dev. Diti, who is furious, swears that she will find Svarga. Over time, Tarakasura, a son of Diti and an Asura, receives a promise from Brahma that he would only be slain by a Shiva-related child. He removes the Devas from heaven, the Asuras' eternal foes, believing himself to be everlasting.Daksha then forces Devi Shakti to be born as his and his wife Prasuti's daughter in earth as Sati after being forced by her daughter Diti to remove Shakti from Shiva and Kailasha. Sati falls in love with Shiva after learning about him, whom Daksha detests. Lord Vishnu and Indra then lead her in the direction of Lord Shiva while disguising themselves as Sages. When the marriage ceremony between Shiva and Sati begins, Daksha abandons Sati and relocates to Kailasha. But Diti's asura emissaries Tarakasura and his asuras contaminated the marriage yagna fire. But Lord Shiva and Sati wed without a ceremony; this union is known as a Gandharva marriage, and Sati's bride avatar is called Kalyanasundari.Daksha organises a Yajna inviting the inhabitants of all the kingdoms, with the exception of the inhabitants of Kailasha, in an effort to humiliate Shiva and Sati. But Sati goes to the Yajna, where she is made fun of. She ends up setting herself on fire in front of everyone present as a result. In a fit of rage, Shiva and Shakti decapitated Daksha in order to exact revenge for Sati's passing by taking on the hideous forms of Veerabhadra and Kali. Later, a goat's head is used in place of Daksha's. Shiva withdraws into the caverns of the Amarnath after severing Sati's body into fifty-two parts, which create Shakti Peethas.Devi then gives birth once more at Vishnu's command as the daughter of Himavat and Mainavati. She was given the name Shailaputri by Vishnu, who was appearing as a doctor, and who is the daughter (putri) of the King of the Mountains (Shaila). In the meantime, Diti sends her demon to collect all of the Shakti Peethas in order to consume them and obtain ultimate power. So, Vishnu, posing as a doctor, forces Parvati to mention the name "Shiva." As a result, Lord Shiva became his Bhairava avatar. Lord Shiva safeguarded the Shakti Peethas from the demons when he was in his Bhairava form. Tarakasura and Diti sent their evil army to murder Devi because they knew about her birth. As a result, Rishi Markandeya's ashram is where King Himavat and Queen Mainavati relocate. She was known as Devi Parvati inside the ashram. She developed there as a Markandeya follower. The Rishi instructed her with the devotion of Shiva. However, Diti sends the demon Bahurupa to murder the infant. However, Parvati conquers her by granting the demon's moksha. Like in her previous existence as Sati, Parvati also develops feelings for Shiva. She wished to wed Lord Shiva later on Mahashivaratri day. Rishi agreed to accept her and showed her the route. She discovered him in the caves of her father's realm, sits at his feet, and meditates on him. As a result, she earns the name Brahmacharini, which means "one who performed tremendous penance."The Devas send out Kama, the God of Love, who is destroyed by Shiva for upsetting his trance in a haste to awaken Shiva so that he would fall in love with Devi once more and have a son who could kill Tarakasura. Devi Rati curses Parvati, telling her she would never have children, after learning of her husband's passing.Shiva treats Parvati indifferently despite being aware of her dedication to and affection for him. When she tries to speak to him, he tells her that she won't get what she wants until she passes some of his tests. Shiva challenges Parvati, who accepts. He puts her through a series of tests at Kailasha and Kashi, which she successfully completes.Shiva is impressed and accepts her proposal of marriage. A ceremony is held in Kailasha to commemorate Shiva's marriage, during which Shiva Gan and all other Devas consume alcohol. Diti is now devising a scheme to force Rishi Durvasa to attend the event. There, Nandi welcomes Durvasa with alcohol, which enrages him and causes him to curse that he too will be blocked in. Durvasa also forbids Shiva from appearing in his regular form during the wedding. Marriage traditions begin at that point. Nandi is first instructed to give Parvati the haldi (which is used for Lord Shiva). Nandi is stopped in his tracks by Tarakasura, who then kills him. Shiva is halted by Durvasa's curse and is unable to save Nandi. Lord Shiva became extremely angry after his demise. When Devi Parvati recognised Lord Shiva's rage, she dialled Shukracharya. He gives Nandi a new birth. Lord Shiva begins his wedding procession in Aghori form, as per Durvasa's curse. Devi Parvati dresses up and takes on the name Sundareshwari in the meantime. The wedding also extends an invitation to Daksha's relatives. Revati, another daughter of Daksha, is concerned that Lord Chandra, who is married to all 27 of Daksha's daughters, is under Daksha's curse because he only has an intimate relationship with one of them. Shiva retains Lord Chandra in his brain while Devi Parvati assumes the shape of Chandraghanta in order to execute the Equilibrium Jewelry ceremony and lift the Lord Chandra's curse.Himavat and Mainavati reject the marriage when they realise that Shiva is an Aghori. Then, with the aid of Vishnu, Shiva was transformed into Sundareshwarar in accordance with Parvati's plan. The union of Shiva and Parvati follows. When Parvati is asked to wash Shiva's foot as part of a marriage ceremony. He had to bathe her foot, says Shiva. Parvati, who is perplexed, claims that she was merely a human. Then, with Shiva's assistance, Parvati discovers her true identity and assumes the form of the cosmic goddess Kushmanda. Then Devi invites the Devas to a feast that she has planned in Kailash. There, the Devas are happy with the food that Devi has prepared, and Devi promises that Tarakasura would undoubtedly be slain by the child she and Shiva will have. Devi then assumes the form of Annapurna. Devi Ganga is compelled to leave the Svarga and descend into the earth in order to provide ancestors moksha. Ganga becomes so enraged that she attempts to destroy the world with all of her fury. Therefore, Lord Shiva picks her up in his hair band and gently lowers her to the ground.Arriving in Kailasha to worship to Lord Shiva is Rishi Bhringi. He solely prays to Shiva, defaming Devi Parvati. He also says that praying for a woman alone is insufficient.Parvati, who is enraged, merges with Lord Shiva to become Ardhanarishvara's avatar and declares that men and women are equal. Tarakasura, meanwhile, puts the devas in danger by seizing Deva Lok. As a result of Parvati and Shiva performing a penance jointly, power-ball is produced. Devi Parvathi assumes the appearance of Lalitha to kill Bhandasura, who tries to destroy the power ball, with Rati's consent. However, Bhandasura's action caused the power ball to fall into the river. It eventually broke into six parts, which then transformed into six children, which were captured by Kartikai ladies in Kartikai loka.Parvati poses as Devi Kartika to put the Kartikai ladies' devotion to the kids to the test.Kartikai females passed this test. Negative energies cannot enter Kartikai Loka either. Parvati therefore believes that Kartikai Loka is more secure than Kailash. As a result, she separated her six offspring and reunited them as Kartikeya (son of Karthikai women) or Skanda (one born from stone smash), giving herself the name Skandamata. After that, they face a threat from Shumbha and Nishumbha, two more of Diti's demon offspring. Shumbha develops feelings for Parvati. He commands Munda and Chanda to take the woman to the underworld. With the aid of the Ashta matrikas, Parvati transforms into Kali, her untamed warrior form, out of rage. She then kills Chanda-Munda in the role of Kali. Shumbha, who is terrified, requests Diti for assistance. She sends Raktabija, and Devi Kali murders him and consumes his blood. Lord Shiva crosses Devi Kali's path to pacify her. Kali steps on him before realising her error. She gives up all of her abilities to destroy her guild, hides herself in a cave, and uses Rishi Markandeya to assist her experience sadness so that he can write the Markandeya Purana.Nishumbha, on the other hand, visits the cave to transport Parvati to the underworld. Since only good energies are allowed within Karthika Loka, Devi Parvati first enters it and defeats the demon that attempted to kill Kartikeya by transforming into a peacock. Then, Parvati assumes the appearance of Devi Kaushiki and kills Nishumbha.Following Nishumbha's passing, Devi Parvati goes back to Kailasha. She was relieved of the guilt of stamping her husband, and her guru comforted her by telling her that she had once been cursed to remain childless as a result of her husband's rage. She was then given a magnificent welcome ceremony by the Kailash Devas, who gave her the name Mahagauri. In order to trap Shumbha, Parvati assumes the appearance of Kalaratri, and then kills Shumbha in her true divine form. Diti is really shocked by this. When Kartikeya reaches adulthood and is ready to fulfil his original purpose for being born, he leaves Kartikai loka and travels to Kailash to study the art of war with his real mother, Parvati. He at first detested his mother. To protect the occupants of Dev Lok and Kartikeya, Parvati assumes the shape of Katyayani from the yagna performed in the ashram of the sage Katyayana. Kartikeya is now content with his mother. Kartikeya is instructed in the laws of war by Devi Parvati. Tarakasura plans a battle in Kailash in the meantime.Kartikeya, on the other hand, learns the skills of war and combat from his mother Parvati and defeats Tarakasura.Diti ultimately gives in to Devi after realising her errors. The devas, including Shiva, Vishnu, and Brahma, and the demons, including Diti, congregate in Kailash to perform the Maha Aarti rite to Devi. Devi achieving her Siddhidhatri form and bestowing blessings on everyone marks the conclusion of the event.

An Indian television show called Story 9 Months Ki (roughly translated as "Story of 9 months") airs on Sony TV. On November 23, 2020, it made its debut. Sukirti Kandpal and Aashay Mishra are among the cast members of this Rangrez Television Works production, which also has Bhumika Chheda, Avni Taywade, Monaa Mokha, and Sharat Sonu in significant parts. The programme concluded on April 23, 2021.Alia Shroff is a determined individual who accomplished everything she set out to do. She is divorced from her mother Nandini Sharma because allegedly she left them to pursue a career as a painter (which also caused Alia to develop a strong dislike for her); however, this was later revealed to be a fabrication made by her dad Gautam Shroff, who is constantly a show-off and has never shown any affection for her. Alia desires a child and is married to Veer Malhotra. But Veer is having an affair with Nitya, a friend of Alia. Alia divorces him after discovering his infidelity. She now uses IVF to plan her pregnancy. However, Sarangdhar Pandey, an aspiring writer from Mathura with a strict father, is inspired after seeing an interview with her and decides to move to Mumbai to pursue his dream of being a writer with the help of his mother. His father only knew that he had left home to pursue a career as a writer, despite the fact that he had informed his mother everything about his travels and other details.By accident, Sarang is hired as an Office Runner at Alia's company "Direct Dil Se" (DDS), and she is living in a house with a small number of other individuals. Later, Alia hires him as a writer on the recommendation of her business counsellor.Alia's assistant Rahul was tasked with finding her an acceptable sperm donor for the IVF treatment, and he succeeds in doing so. However, the donor he locates abruptly withdraws their offer owing to personal reasons. Then, without Alia's knowledge, he connives to get Sarang to give. This assistance from Alia, however, has a negative impact on Rahul's own love life because Mala, another employee of Alia and Rahul's love interest, comes to the conclusion that he is homosexual and plans to marry an NRI she met online. The marriage, however, to Rahul's delight, was later annulled because the groom's shallow thinking and shaming of Mala, which was discovered and brought to light by Alia herself, was discovered.Sarang's friend Kavya, urged by Nandini, a frequent visitor, proclaims her love for him, but Sarang didn't really feel the same way. Rabia, Alia's childhood best friend and a doctor, learns about the error after Alia becomes pregnant and informs Alia. Soon after, Sarang also learns about it. He finds this realisation tough because he wasn't emotionally or financially prepared to start a family. Sarang was traumatised by his father's treatment of him as a youngster and grew up vowing never to have children, but after much soul-searching, he decides he will assist in raising the child. Alia learns she is expecting twins in the interim.People protest against her when it is revealed in the media that she became pregnant through IVF (after Sarang made an oversight), but Sarang fights valiantly to keep her and their child safe (here, he does not know that he is going to become father of twins). In Mathura, Sarang's sister Kumkum becomes pregnant; Suraj is the other parent. Brij and her father-in-law had an argument on the day of Kumkum's wedding, which led to an incomplete wedding ceremony; she was forced to live at his house rather than her husband's, though they continued to meet in secret. While Kusum, the oldest sister, and her husband are expelled from the house after raising a fuss about her father's mistreatment of women, they are subsequently invited back.Alia starts searching for Sarang's flaws because she doesn't want him to be the father figure for her children. She finds them to be Brij Mohan Pandey, Sarang's father, and Kavya, whom she initially believed to be his lover. She tried to get him to leave DDS by giving him money and recommending him to Mr. Mehta, a well-known film producer. At about the same time, Brij learns that Sarang is in Mumbai and that Kamleshwari is in contact with Sarang. They are able to get in touch with one another and work out an arrangement to bring Sarang to Mathura and keep her there. Sarang's mother warns him not to return to Mathura because his father is acting strangely. But when Alia asks him to go to Mathura, he ignores her since he realises he loves her. Alia realises her error when she arrives in Mathura and meets with Sarang's father. She tries to come up with an excuse to take Sarang back with her but is unsuccessful.Sarang, who had been passing himself off as a Punjabi, is soon detected by his family and a family drama ensues, during which Alia passes out from the chaos. She receives a call from a doctor who, after receiving payment from Brij, suggests that she stay in Mathura for at least three weeks rather than go. Brij also extends an invitation to his older, firmly conventional sister to stay with them. She invites Sarang's childhood friend Elaichi, who he initially doesn't recognise, along with herself, to marry him. Despite knowing that Sarang is in love with Alia, she maintains it a secret from Brij, Elaichi, and herself.Sarang's aunt, known as "Bua," would frequently argue with Alia over her stringent norms of adhering to tradition because she thinks that change is inevitable in life and that she (Bua) should adapt her ways of thinking as well. One of these arguments results in Alia's hand being hurt. While Sarang is treating her, his mother overhears their chat and learns that Sarang is going to be the father of Alia's child. While Alia is preparing to leave, Sarang takes her to another room and tells her the entire account of how he came to be her father. Sarang's mother agrees with her choice to leave, packs Sarang's old clothes and baby toys, and gets a cab right away.Sarang was devastated by this and felt extremely emotional. He had intended to leave the house as well, but after seeing Alia come back, he decided against it. A childhood painting of Alia with the "lovely" boy she met as a small child while travelling to boarding school, whom she later recognises is a very young Sarang, was among the toys Sarang's mother gave Sarang, prompting Alia to return. She is aware that she feels something for Sarang, but she is not sure what. Soon after, Sarang confides in his mother about his feelings for Alia, and Alia later believes she is in love with Sarang when speaking with Rabia on the phone. She tells Sarang that Kumkum is expecting twins and that they will be parents (she realised this a few days back when she found Kumkum craving food in the middle of the night, but promised not to tell anybody). They then proclaim their love to one another after pulling practical jokes on one another and decide to return to Mumbai. Bua and Elaichi find out that Sarang is the father of Alia's child, and Suraj sends someone to kidnap Brij so that he may tell him about the baby.As soon as Suraj lets Brij go, he joins forces with Bua and Elaichi to kill the infant (in this instance, while Brij is talking about Kumkum's kid, Bua and Elaichi believe they are killing Sarang and Alia's). After Sarang and Alia deceitfully trap him, Brij's plan to have Suraj jailed for kidnapping him is reversed. Soon after, Bua and Elaichi tell him that since Sarang is the father of the child, they actually intended for the baby to be slain to be Alia's. In the meantime, Gautam and Nandini decide to visit Mathura after realising their carelessness. While Gautam and Nandini, as well as everyone else, learn about Alia and Sarang, Brij chooses to arrange their marriage out of respect for tradition.Regarding this, Sarang and Alia argue over whether or not he injured her in the same way Veer did. Sarang becomes depressed, and Alia attempts to cheer him up, and they both decide to get engaged. After discovering the truth about her upbringing, Alia forgave her mother and made amends with her in the interim. Brij Mohan and Gautam are quietly attempting to end their relationship through a number of different means. Soon after, mostly due to Sarang's insistence, Alia and Sarang decide to return to Mumbai and keep their romance private. However, Bua, Brij Mohan, Gautam, and Elaichi plan to sabotage Alia and Sarang's romance by bringing Sarang's family to Mumbai very soon. One day Elaichi disappears, and when Sarang and Alia were looking for her, Alia was seriously hurt in a vehicle accident. In a moving video posted to his Facebook page, Sarang begs for blood donations to save her and the twins. To everyone's astonishment, Elaichi is later identified as the donor. Alia asked Rabia to keep Sarang's pregnancy a secret from him and everyone else because Alia's injury made it a high-risk pregnancy. Sarang is upset when Alia tells everyone about their connection since Faheem is investigating while trying to implicate Sarang in numerous situations. Meanwhile, Faheem suspects that Alia and Sarang are having an affair.Soon after, Sarang vanishes, and the next morning his office is discovered to have been vandalised. Kusum and her husband discover Brij Mohan comatose after he has been beaten. With the assistance of the police, Alia quickly locates an injured Sarang in a warehouse. The police later detain Suraj's father on charges of kidnapping him. After being saved, Sarang is taken to a hospital where she makes a vow to Alia to love her and stay with her forever. Soon after, Sarang gets a call from Mr. Mehta asking him to write for his upcoming movie. Sarang agrees and leaves the city to begin writing while starting to avoid Alia.Sarang and Alia's families are preparing for their wedding, but amid the pre-wedding festivities, a number of abshagun (ominous happenings) occur, giving the impression that the wedding won't take place.Six years later, it is clear that Alia and Sarang never wed since they decided to end their relationship just days before the ceremony. Sarang lives with his daughter Sayuri in Mathura, while Alia resides with her son Agastya in Mumbai. Alia sold her business, Direct Dil Se, and is currently having financial difficulties. She is currently employed by DDS, where the new manager is investor Jeevan Srivastava. Sarang is a well-known author of children's comics who goes by the pen name "Azaad Roy," but no one is aware of his true identity.Although Kavya is now his secretary, she still has emotions for Sarang. On a website for single parents, Alia and Sarang communicate with one another anonymously and without knowing each other. As they share their daily experiences, they eventually decide to meet in person. As a great fan of Azaad Roy's comics and a target of bullying at school, Agastya asks Alia to take him to see Azaad Roy. As a result of Alia's vehicle accident six years ago, Sayuri, a bully, was born with a heart abnormality, and her health has recently gotten worse. Sarang is informed by her doctor in Mathura that she needs to be transported to Mumbai for additional specialised care.Sarang, Sayuri, and Kamleshwari travel to Mumbai and stay in Sarang's former residence, where Ramesh Bhau, a former roommate and close friend, still resides. It is made clear that Sarang and Alia are unaware of the presence of the other twin, whom they believe to have been born dead. While still unknowing that they are both meeting their long-lost child, Alia and Sarang have numerous chance encounters with Sayuri and Agastya, respectively, and each begins to feel strongly maternal toward the other. After a few unpleasant encounters, Agastya and Sayuri—who attended the same school as him—decide to become friends. In an effort to reach Azaad Roy, Alia is making a lot of effort to advertise the comic book characters "Papa Toofan" (Father Storm) and "Chhotu Toofan" (Little Storm) to children of all ages.Sarang has forbidden even mentioning Alia's name in their home, so Kamleshwari resolves to meet Alia behind Sarang's back in order to learn more about the events surrounding Sarang and Alia's separation with the assistance of Ramesh. Finally, Kamleshwari makes contact with Nandini Sharma, who now resides in the US as a result of her ongoing cancer treatment. When Sarang learns about this, he demands angrily that she never speak to Nandini again. Gautam wants Alia to be content, and he thinks Veer, her ex-husband, can make her content. In order to gradually win Alia over by making her feel sorry for him for losing his wife Nitya and their child, he secretly instructs Veer to join DDS as the CEO.One day, Rahul and Mala (who are now married) have an idea for how to make Alia happy. They enlist the help of Rosie and a few other people to ask Alia's old investors and employees to work for another firm that Alia would eventually found. On one of these days, Faheem shows up at Param's workplace looking for a job.He is assured of consideration but requested to leave right away after it was discovered that Faheem had spent a considerable amount of time in prison as a result of an unspecified violent offence. One day, while speaking online, Alia and Sarang discover that their children have the same birthday. They decide to make something special for them in the hopes of meeting up later.

In 2020, Vidhu Vinod Chopra will produce and direct the Hindi-language movie Shikara. The love affair of a Kashmiri Pandit couple at the 1990s' height of the insurgency in Jammu and Kashmir and the following displacement of Kashmiri Pandits from the Kashmir Region serve as the basis for the movie. The film stars Aadil Khan, Sadiya Khateeb, Zain Khan Durrani and Bhavana Chauhan in lead roles. In the first scene of the film, an elderly Shiv writes a letter to the American president outlining the predicament of Kashmiri Pandits who are forced to live as refugees in their own nation. It transpires that he has written a number of letters since 1990. POTUS responded to his most recent letter by inviting him to a presidential suite in Delhi. He travels to Delhi with Shanti. They watch the movie DVD "Love in Kashmir" in their opulent chamber, remembering their first encounter, their marriage in Kashmir, and their forced escape to Jammu.Shiv Kumar Dhar, a young college lecturer and PhD student, meets Shanti Sapru, a medical student, on the set of "Love in Kashmir," in a flashback scene that follows. They quickly became friends after meeting for the first time due to their shared love of poetry and Shiv's role as the author of the just-released "Shikara." As soon as they start to fall in love, Shiv asks Shanti to marry him with the assistance of his best friend Lateef Lone, a budding cricket player and the child of a local politician who acts as Shiv's male role model. Lateef develops feelings for Arti, Shanti's best friend and fellow medical student. Shiv and Shanti wed in a customary Kashmiri Pandit Ceremonial Wedding. With the assistance of Lateef's father, they quickly construct a sizable mansion and give it the name "Shikara." Muslims and Hindus alike coexist together in the community. When their first wedding anniversary comes around, Shiv's medical cousin Naveen gives him a typewriter so he may write his dissertation on it. Their joy, however, was short-lived because Lateef's father, a politician, was critically hurt while attending a rally and was admitted to Naveen's clinic. He was allegedly attacked by the police at the order of the existing central government. But while he is being sent to a multi-speciality hospital for his procedure, he passes away. After losing his father, Lateef leaves the country and goes to Lahore to enrol in a terrorist training programme. This incident causes a dramatic shift in the peace around the Kashmir Valley.Shiv finds that several of the pupils in his class are absent. On a bus, a bunch of people force Shanti to veil her head and take off her bindi. She discovers that there are direct buses running from Laal Chowk to Islamabad and Lahore there. She even sees a shooting that results in the deaths of six policemen who were trying to prevent young men from taking these buses in order to join the military. A handful of Shiv's missing pupils abduct him and take him to see Lateef, who is now in charge of a terrorist organization attacking Kashmiri Pandits. He cautions Shiv to flee the valley before it's too late, and he only does so because the two of them once had a friendship.Shiv continues to think that all of these changes are only temporary and that the Kashmiri Pandits remain secure. But he had miscalculated the circumstance. All Hindu Kashmiri Pandits are advised to leave the Kashmir valley within a month after the issuance of a kill list. Houses owned by Kashmiri Pandits were put on fire. Shiv is stunned as Naveen is murdered in the commotion right before his eyes. Together with the rest of their family, Shiv and Shanti are able to flee to Jammu. The former owners of a massive mansion, the couple, are now forced to live in tents. They witness wealthy and well-off Kashmiri Pandits battling to obtain something as basic as tomatoes. Shiv then begins using the typewriter Naveen gave him to send letters to the President of the United States to inform him about the situation at the Valley. Two years later, after finishing his doctoral work, Shiv decides to accept a new position at Punjab University. But Shanti urges him to work with the neighbourhood refugees. Soon after, he receives a call asking him to sell his home, "Shikara," for a high price to the local Kashmiri Muslims. He refuses to remember Lateef's father's and Naveen's deaths, and by chance, he discovers Naveen's jacket being worn by the broker. Naveen had promised to give it to him as a gift once he had finished his PhD. The Dhar family becomes accustomed to living in refugee housing over time, with Shiv continuing to tutor local refugees and write letters to the president, while Shanti begins to exhibit symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as a result of that terrible night before their forced flight. One evening, the Indian Army asks Shiv and Shanti to travel to Kashmir Valley to meet with terrorist Lateef, who has since been apprehended. Lateef and Shiv converse, but soon after, Lateef passes away. Shiv and Shanti also go to their former residence, which is currently occupied by a former friend. Shiv and Shanti are dismayed to find how their neighbour, whom they loved like family, had destroyed all they had co-built.They receive a modest happy event back in the refugee towers. The daughter of one of their neighbours is getting married. Shanti is ecstatic in anticipation of witnessing a Kashmiri Pandit marriage. But the ceremony is not at all what she had anticipated. There is a DJ, as well as strong lighting and music. She soon falls due to the devastation of losing not just her home but also her culture. It turns out that she has a neurological condition and needs to be operated on by a local doctor who was once Shiv's student when they lived in refugee quarters. The couple moved into the presidential room after receiving a call from the POTUS just before Shanti's operation. Shiv then admits to Shanti that he was the one who made the hotel reservations and that the postman mistook the word "presidential suite" for an invitation from the president. They were celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary, and he wanted to grant her long-held wish to see the Taj Mahal. Shanti questions him about how he was able to afford the Rupees 1.25 lakh suite. Shiv explains to her that he utilised some of the proceeds from the sale of their home to fund her surgery and to realise her goal. Despite feeling defeated, Shanti stays silent. Shiv later brings her to the Taj Mahal via boat. On the boat, Shanti dies in his arms. Shiv decides to stay in his parents' old house and transports Shanti's ashes to Kashmir as he had promised her. In the hopes that kids don't become terrorists like his friend did, he begins tutoring young boys there. The movie received positive reviews from the critics, praising the picturesque locations and the acting performance of the lead actors. The movie was, however, criticised for twisting facts and not portraying the plight of the Kashmiri Pandits as it was. It failed at the box office, earning a gross total of around INR 9 crores during the entirety of its run.

As November comes to an end and the cold holiday season arrives, another fun tradition makes the excitement of Christmas grow: the Advent calendar. In this blog, we delve into the origins of this cherished tradition, its evolution over the years, and how it continues to bring joy to families each December. Advent (meaning ‘to come’ in Latin) is the period before Christmas when Christians prepare for and celebrate the anniversary of the birth of Christ. It is an ancient tradition that dates from the first century after the birth of Christ. The Advent calendar was first used by German Lutherans in the 19th and 20th centuries, and has since then spread to other Christian denominations. Early versions of Advent calendars were simple, involving marking off the days until Christmas with a chalk line or lighting a new candle each day. Some German families hung 24 marked boxes or bags from a string, removing one each day until Christmas arrived. When will the Advent Start in 2023? The advent calendar will start from 3rd December 2023 to 24th December 2023. The Beginning of the Advent Calendar The ritual of counting down to Christmas originated among German Lutherans in the 19th century. Early versions of Advent calendars were simple, involving marking off the days until Christmas with a chalk line or lighting a new candle each day. Some German families hung 24 marked boxes or bags from a string, removing one each day until Christmas arrived. The first printed calendar appeared in Munich, Germany, in 1903. Gerhard Lang, often called the 'father of the printed Advent calendar', was inspired by a handmade calendar his mother had made him as a child, where she attached a sweet to pieces of cardboard. Lang recreated this idea on a mass scale, pioneering the advent calendar's commercial journey. Importance of the Advent Calendar The Advent calendar plays a significant role in heightening the excitement and anticipation of the Christmas season. It serves as a visual and interactive countdown, allowing people to mark each day of December leading up to Christmas. With each passing day, the opening of a new window or door in the calendar offers a small surprise or treat, capturing the essence of the festive spirit and spreading joy. Through this simple and entertaining approach, the Advent calendar has become an integral part of many families' holiday traditions. In addition to strengthening the festive atmosphere, the Advent calendar is a gentle reminder of the spiritual and religious aspects of the season. By focusing on the themes of "preparation" and "anticipation" during Advent, the calendar reinforces the significance of the nativity of Jesus. It serves as a tool to engage children and adults in understanding the biblical story and the true meaning of Christmas, connecting them to the essence of the holiday while enjoying the daily surprises awaiting them in the calendar. The Role of Advent Calendar in Christmas Celebrations: The Advent calendar plays a delightful dual role. Firstly, it helps children (and adults!) handle the anticipation of waiting for Christmas by offering a small token to enjoy each day. Secondly, it provides a simple and engaging way to reinforce the religious significance of the season by focusing on the 'preparation' and 'anticipation' themes of Advent. In essence, the Advent calendar, whether simple or intricate, serves as a daily reminder of the approaching joy and wonder of Christmas. As each window opens and delights us with a tiny surprise, it brings the magic of the season into our homes, one day at a time. So, as December 1st rolls around, let’s embrace this age-old tradition, and add a sprinkle of Christmas cheer to our everyday count down to the big day! Christmas is a widely celebrated holiday recognizing the birth of Jesus Christ, a significant figure in Christianity. The celebration takes place annually on 25th December. It's filled with various customs and traditions, including decorating homes with lights and the iconic Christmas tree, exchanging gifts, attending church services, and sharing meals with family and friends. Christmas is also called X’mas because Christmas is a combination of “Christ” and “mas”, Xmas and Christmas. Origin Of Christmas Tree The Christmas tree is considered as the symbol of eternal life. It is believed that the tradition of putting up the Christmas tree first started in Germany, after which it came to the UK in the 1830s. The legend also has that after the birth of Jesus Christ in the winter season, some of the trees shook off the snow and turned green to mark the great event. Thus, the Christmas tree represents permanence and immortality.- different article As mentioned above, Christmas day was celebrated by pagan cultures as part of solstice celebrations where they decorated their homes in green with a desire to bring prosperity and spring. Those trees remain unaffected during winters and darkest days, so they were believed to hold special powers. The Romans also decorated their homes with Fir trees to celebrate Saturnalia and decorated them with embellishments. Some evidence also shows the Greeks decorating their trees in honour of their God. The tradition started in Central Europe, especially in Estonia, Germany and (Livonia (now Latvia), where Protestant Christians would bring decorated trees into their homes. They used to garnish the tree with paper roses, apples, wafers, shiny metal strips, and candies. Moravian Christians started the practice of lighting up Christmas trees with candles, which were replaced by electric Christmas lights as time passed. Nowadays, people use a mix of traditional and modern decorations like garlands, round ornaments, shiny metal strips, and candy canes. Many people place an angel or star at the top of the tree to symbolize the Angel Gabriel or the Star of Bethlehem from the birth story of Jesus. Tasty treats such as gingerbread, chocolate, and other candies are also favorites, and are tied to the tree branches using ribbons. Behind the scenes, very talented costume designers and stylists play a critical role in crafting the iconic looks of Bollywood stars on the big screen. India has a historic garment design culture as well as a burgeoning fashion business. A few designers existed prior to the 1980s, but expansion occurred in the late 1980s and early 1990s. This was due to increased exposure to global fashion and the Indian economy's economic boom following economic liberalisation. Following independence, the emphasis shifted to the resurrection of traditional textile and design, resulting in the rise of ethnic chic. The history of clothing in India extends back to ancient times, when we could observe traditional Indian clothing with regional variants, such as a sari, ghagra-choli, or dhoti, which remained popular until the early post-independence decades. Then there was a period of decline, which was quickly followed by a period of revival, in which various organisations were involved in reviving traditional Indian techniques, such as ikat, patola (double-ikat), bandhani (tie & dye), and shisha (mirror embroidery). Bollywood films have the talent to produce unique fashion statements. Since ancient times, clothing designers have played an important role.
