'Applause' from Tell It Like a Woman, 'Hold My Hand' from Top Gun: Maverick, 'Lift Me Up' from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and 'This is Life' from Everything Everywhere All At Once were the songs competed against. According to sources, the song "Naatu Naatu" from the Telugu-language film RRR won Best Original Song at the 95th Academy Awards in 2023, making it the first Indian film song to win an Oscar.
