The Advent Calendar: A Cherished Christmas Countdown
The Advent Calendar: A Cherished Christmas Countdown

As November comes to an end and the cold holiday season arrives, another fun tradition makes the excitement of Christmas grow: the Advent calendar. In this blog, we delve into the origins of this cherished tradition, its evolution over the years, and how it continues to bring joy to families each December.  Advent (meaning ‘to come’ in Latin) is the period before Christmas when Christians prepare for and celebrate the anniversary of the birth of Christ. It is an ancient tradition that dates from the first century after the birth of Christ. The Advent calendar was first used by German Lutherans in the 19th and 20th centuries, and has since then spread to other Christian denominations. Early versions of Advent calendars were simple, involving marking off the days until Christmas with a chalk line or lighting a new candle each day. Some German families hung 24 marked boxes or bags from a string, removing one each day until Christmas arrived. When will the Advent Start in 2023? The advent calendar will start from 3rd December 2023 to 24th December 2023.  The Beginning of the Advent Calendar The ritual of counting down to Christmas originated among German Lutherans in the 19th century. Early versions of Advent calendars were simple, involving marking off the days until Christmas with a chalk line or lighting a new candle each day. Some German families hung 24 marked boxes or bags from a string, removing one each day until Christmas arrived. The first printed calendar appeared in Munich, Germany, in 1903. Gerhard Lang, often called the 'father of the printed Advent calendar', was inspired by a handmade calendar his mother had made him as a child, where she attached a sweet to pieces of cardboard. Lang recreated this idea on a mass scale, pioneering the advent calendar's commercial journey. Importance of the Advent Calendar  The Advent calendar plays a significant role in heightening the excitement and anticipation of the Christmas season. It serves as a visual and interactive countdown, allowing people to mark each day of December leading up to Christmas. With each passing day, the opening of a new window or door in the calendar offers a small surprise or treat, capturing the essence of the festive spirit and spreading joy. Through this simple and entertaining approach, the Advent calendar has become an integral part of many families' holiday traditions. In addition to strengthening the festive atmosphere, the Advent calendar is a gentle reminder of the spiritual and religious aspects of the season. By focusing on the themes of "preparation" and "anticipation" during Advent, the calendar reinforces the significance of the nativity of Jesus. It serves as a tool to engage children and adults in understanding the biblical story and the true meaning of Christmas, connecting them to the essence of the holiday while enjoying the daily surprises awaiting them in the calendar. The Role of Advent Calendar in Christmas Celebrations: The Advent calendar plays a delightful dual role. Firstly, it helps children (and adults!) handle the anticipation of waiting for Christmas by offering a small token to enjoy each day. Secondly, it provides a simple and engaging way to reinforce the religious significance of the season by focusing on the 'preparation' and 'anticipation' themes of Advent. In essence, the Advent calendar, whether simple or intricate, serves as a daily reminder of the approaching joy and wonder of Christmas. As each window opens and delights us with a tiny surprise, it brings the magic of the season into our homes, one day at a time. So, as December 1st rolls around, let’s embrace this age-old tradition, and add a sprinkle of Christmas cheer to our everyday count down to the big day! All About Nag Panchmi 2023
All About Nag Panchmi 2023

Naga Panchami is a day of traditional snake worship observed by Hindus, Jains, and Buddhists in India, Nepal, and other places where Hindu, Jain, and Buddhist devotees live. According to the Hindu calendar, the devotion is held on the fifth day of the bright half of the lunar month of Shravana (July/August). Naga Panchami is observed in some Indian states, including Karnataka, Rajasthan, and Gujarat, on the dark half (Krishna Paksha) of the same month. As part of the festivities, a Naga or serpent deity made of silver, stone, wood, or a painting is bathed in milk and their blessings are requested for the family's well-being. On this day, live snakes, particularly cobras, are also venerated. Nag Panchmi 2023 Date And Time Every year in July or August, Nag Panchami Puja is held. In the Hindu calendar, it is observed on the fifth day of the lunar month of Shravan.  Nagpanchami will be observed on Monday, August 21, 2023, in the year 2023. In fact, Sawan Shukla's Panchami day in 2023 will begin at 00:21 pm on August 21, 2023, and will end at 02:00 pm on August 22, 2023. Nagpanchami will be commemorated on August 21.  The Legend Behind The Panchmi There are numerous legends and folklore stories in Hinduism that emphasise the significance of snake worship. Kashyapa, grandson of the universal creator Lord Brahma, married two daughters of Prajapati Daksha, Kadru, and Vinata, according to Hindu Puranas and the Mahabharata. Kadru then gave birth to the Naga race, while Vinata gave birth to Aruna, who became the charioteer of the sun deity, Surya, as well as the magnificent bird Garuda, who became Vishnu's carrier. Naga Panchami is also a day when Akhara, traditional Indian wrestling gyms, celebrate the mystical significance of the snake as a symbol of virility and kundalini force. According to another legend, Janamejaya, Parikshit's son, organised a Nag Yagya to exact revenge on snakes after Takshak killed his father. This Yajna was halted by Rishi Jaratkaru's son, Aastik Muni. Shravan Shukla Panchami was the day he halted the Yajna. Significance Of The Festival Snakes are worshipped to placate Lord Shiva, who wears a cobra around his neck. On Nag Panchami Day, devotees worship live cobras and offer them milk and other offerings. Devotees also refrain from digging in the dirt on this day. Nagas control and live in Patal Loka, according to Hindu texts. There are twelve well-known Nagas. Goddess Mansa is the mother of all Nagas and Vasuki's sister. Celebrations Across India Naga Panchami is performed at practically all Shiva temples in India because Shravan is considered Lord Shiva's month and snakes are sacred to him. On this day, people visit several Nag temples across the country to offer their prayers. Around the temples, there are several live snakes and snake charmers. Some groups even bring snake idols home to worship. People put on new clothes, collect offerings for the snakes, and repeat a specific mantra. The milk is the focal point of the offerings because worshippers believe it will protect their family from snake bites. On Naag Panchami, some individuals believe it is also improper to dig in the dirt and use black iron utensils. Nag Panchami celebrations are most prevalent in the state of Maharashtra. Naga Panchami is celebrated in Battis Shirala Village near Mumbai. Extensive Nag Panchami celebrations may also be seen in and around Maharashtra's Nagpur district.  Naga, cobras, and snakes are worshipped on Naga Panchami with milk, sweets, flowers, lamps, and even sacrifices. Naga or serpent idols made of silver, stone, wood, or wall paintings are bathed in water and milk before being worshipped with the recitation of the following mantras. Chinese New Year, Islamic New Year, traditional Japanese New Year, and Jewish New Year are a few of the New Year celebrations that take place in diverse nations. India and other nations continue to observe New Year's Day on various dates.India is a country where people of many cultures, languages, castes, and faiths coexist using both solar and lunar calendar systems, and New Year is observed according to Vedic time. The New Year is observed on many days throughout the year. Every state in India observes traditions and customs unique to that region and celebrates the New Year in a manner that is unique to that state. All of the celebrations are based on the Hindu New Year, commonly known as the Vikram Samvat. Here is the list of various New Year's Days celebrated around the year in the various Indian States.Muharram- Islamic New YearThe Islamic New Year, also known as Hijri New Year or Arabic New Year, commemorates the start of a new Hijri year. The first day of Muharram, the first month in the Islamic calendar, is recognised as the start of the year. The Islamic New Year officially begins on the first of the month of Muharram, which is the first month in the Islamic calendar. The Hijra, or the migration of Muhammad and his followers from Mecca to Medina in 622, is commemorated on this day. Not a religious holiday, but a cultural one, is observed on this day. By praying in the mosque, people observe the holiday. They enjoy traditional dinners and spend the day with their friends and family, sharing greetings and presents.Losar- Tibetan New YearThe most significant event in the Tibetan calendar is the Tibetan New Year, often referred to as Losar. It coincides closely with the conventional Chinese New Year. According to the Gregorian calendar, it corresponds to a day in February or March. Typically, the festival season lasts for 15 days. The Tibetan terms lo and sar, which indicate new and a year, respectively, are the origin of the word Losar, which signifies New Year. The Tibetan calendar states that it begins on the first day of the first month and lasts until the fifteenth day. Daily events are planned, but the three initial days are when the biggest celebrations take place. Religious rituals are also essential components of Tibetan New Year celebrations. Tibetans dress to the nines for Losar, visit temples to worship and give presents to the monks.Nowroz- Persian New YearThe Persian or Iranian New Year, known as Nowruz, is observed by Parsis all over India. For Zoroastrians, it is a holy day that also heralds the start of spring in the Northern Hemisphere. In Persian, the phrase Nowruz literally means "new day." On the occasion of Navroz, people dress in new attire and adorn their homes. In India, Gujarat and Mumbai still have sizable Parsi populations that enthusiastically celebrate Navroz. The Shahenshahi calendar, which the Parsi community of India uses to mark the new year and does not take leap years into account, has shifted the celebration from its original date of the vernal equinox by 200 days. The Parsi New Year is observed in India between August 16 and 17.Gudi Padwa- Marathi New YearGudi Padwa, the customary new year for Marathi and Konkani Hindus in the subcontinent, is celebrated in Maharashtra in spring. Vinayaka Chavithi- History, Significance and Rituals

Vinayaka Chavithi, also widely known as Ganesh Chaturthi, is a significant Hindu festival celebrated with much joy and jubilation across various parts of the globe. The term 'Vinayaka Chavithi' is derived from Telugu language where 'Vinayaka' refers to Lord Ganesha and 'Chavithi' means 'fourth.' Therefore, this festival is traditionally celebrated on the fourth day of the waxing moon period in the Hindu month of Bhadrapada, typically falling between August and September in the Gregorian calendar. The festival commemorates the birth anniversary of Lord Ganesha, the elephant-headed deity who is the epitome of wisdom, prosperity, fortune, and is considered the remover of obstacles. He is often revered as the patron of arts, sciences, intellect and wisdom. This auspicious occasion is marked by setting up clay idols of Ganesha in homes and elaborately decorated outdoor tents, followed by ten days of prayer, music and dance. Imagine adding a dash of glamour to your Ganesh Chaturthi festivities this year. Exciting, isn't it? Well, it's entirely possible to receive a personalised selfie video message, an Instagram DM, or even an Aarti performed by your favorite celebrity. With Tring, this exciting experience is just a few clicks away. The emphasis on arts and cultural activities during the festival like music concerts, dance performances, and dramas paves the way for social gatherings and community bonding. It offers a fascinating insight into the culture, the traditions, and the profound love and respect that the people have for Lord Ganesha. A Glimpse into the History of Vinayaka Chavithi The celebration of Vinayaka Chavithi has deep historical and cultural roots. While the precise origin is somewhat obscure, historical accounts and legends associated with the festival date back centuries. It is believed that the festival was celebrated as a public event, since the times of Maratha King Shivaji, but it became widely recognized during the reign of Peshwas involving elaborate grandeur. The Ganapati deity was considered as the family deity or 'Kuladevata' of Peshwas. In the late 19th century, during the period of India's fight for freedom, Lokmanya Tilak, a freedom fighter and social reformer, reformed the annual Ganesh festival from private family celebrations into a grand public event. His intention was primarily to bridge the gap between the castes and to promote nationalism among people with the use of large public celebrations in the face of the British colonial rule. He saw the festival as a means of creating unity, instilling a sense of pride and culture in Indians, and to defy the British colonial laws of large public assemblies. Ever since, Vinayaka Chavithi has been celebrated as an exuberant public festival, while still maintaining its private family rituals. Significance of Vinayaka Chavithi Festival Vinayaka Chavithi, also known as Ganesh Chaturthi, is not just a festival but a significant event underlining strong philosophical and spiritual concepts in Hinduism. This festival celebrates Lord Ganesha, the divine embodiment of wisdom, prosperity, and good fortune. More than merely being a jovial commemoration, Vinayaka Chavithi symbolizes the human aspiration to seek divine blessings to overcome obstacles in life’s journey. Ganesha’s elephant head denotes wisdom, and his human body signifies the earthly existence of humans. By worshipping Lord Ganesha, devotees seek to imbibe his qualities and eliminate the negativity that hinders their spiritual and material growth. The immersion ritual, or Visarjan, represents the cycle of creation and dissolution in the universe and conveys a deep spiritual message that one must not cling onto materialistic attachments. It encourages the belief that all physical manifestations are temporary, advising mankind to embrace the eternal spirit. This rich confluence of mythology, symbolism and profound wisdom makes Vinayaka Chavithi a festival of significant spiritual magnitude. The Rituals of Vinayaka Chavithi Vinayaka Chavithi is marked by a sequence of rituals that blend tradition, faith, and mythology while imparting a powerful spiritual experience for the devotees. The celebrations begin with the installation of Ganesha idols, handcrafted from eco-friendly materials like clay. This ritual, known as 'Ganesha Prathisthapana', commences with the 'Avahanam' or invocation of the Lord. The 'Ganesha Puja', performed by devotees involves offerings of flowers, fruits, and sweets. Traditional prayers are elucidated to pay homage.  Devotees also recite Vedic hymns and the Ganapati Atharvashirsha, a sacred text dedicated to Ganesha. One of the most loving rituals is the offering of 'Prasadam' – Modak in Maharashtra, Kozhukattai in Tamil Nadu, Undrallu in Andhra Pradesh. These are considered Ganesha's favourite foods, symbolising the sweet rewards of prayers.During the festival's ten-day tenure, various cultural activities and processions take place, celebrating Ganesha's love for arts. The festival culminates with 'Ganesha Visarjan', a grand procession where the idols are ceremoniously immersed in a water body. This poignant ceremony symbolises Ganesha's journey back to Mount Kailash, assuring his devotees that he will return next year. Overall, the rituals of Vinayaka Chavithi encapsulate divinity, devotion, joy, and a profound sense of belonging to the wider community. Feast of Vinayaka Chavithi: Delicacies from Across India A significant facet of Vinayaka Chavithi is the wide array of culinary delicacies prepared to revere and satiate Lord Ganesha, known for his love for food. Each state in India has distinct offerings catering to the local palette, turning the festival into a gastronomic delight. In Maharashtra, the star dish is Modak, a sweet dumpling stuffed with jaggery and grated coconut. Lord Ganesha's affinity for Modaks is well-known, earning him the nickname 'Modakapriya.' Besides Modak, delicacies like Puran Poli and Varan Bhaat are also prepared.  Moving south to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, delicacies like Pillayar Laddu, Undrallu, Pala Thalikalu and Kudumulu—steamed sweet dumplings made from rice flour—are offered to Ganesha. In Gujarat, traditional sweets like Kesar Peda are made while Karanji, another variant of the sweet dumpling, is popular in Goa. Karnataka's festive menu lists Hayagreeva, a traditional sweet made from Bengal gram lentil and jaggery. West Bengal treats Lord Ganesha with Puli Pitha, rice flour dumplings filled with coconut and date palm jaggery. In Tamil Nadu, Kozhukattai, a form of steamed dumplings, and Sundal, a chickpea salad, are prepared. All these special foods not only enhance the festive spirit but also accentuate the rich, varied Indian culinary landscape, while offering a delectable treat to Ganesha and his devotees. Ganesh Chaturthi: Celebrations Across India Ganesh Chaturthi, another term for Vinayaka Chavithi, is celebrated with great devotion across India, in both domestic settings and public gatherings. Vinayaka Chavithi Celebrations Beyond India While Vinayaka Chavithi is deeply rooted in the Indian culture, its spirit has now transcended geographical boundaries as it is celebrated by Indian communities and those who follow Hinduism in various countries across the globe. Nepal: Nepal, home to a significant Hindu population, observes the festival with great zeal. People install Ganesha idols in their houses and worship them with prayers, offerings, and music. United States: Indian communities in various cities across the US come together to celebrate Vinayaka Chavithi. United Kingdom: The UK witnesses large-scale celebrations in cities with sizeable Indian communities such as London and Leicester. Australia: Cities like Melbourne and Sydney in Australia host elaborate Vinayaka Chavithi celebrations through the efforts of Indian associations. The events involve idol installations, devotional singing, and traditional pujas wrapped with music and dance performances. Canada: The Indian diaspora in Canadian cities like Toronto also rejoice in the festival, organizing community gatherings and cultural programs to honor Lord Ganesha. Vinayaka Chavithi's vibrant celebrations outside India showcase the strong bonds within the Indian diaspora, and their commitment to preserve and propagate their rich cultural heritage. The festival not only unites people in the name Environmental Impact of Vinayaka Chavithi While Ganesh Chaturthi, or Vinayaka Chavithi, is an occasion for joyous celebrations, it's also associated with environmental issues that cannot be neglected. The most significant environmental concern is water pollution caused by the immersion of Ganesha idols in rivers, lakes, and seas. Traditional idols made of clay have been progressively replaced by those made from Plaster of Paris (PoP) and decorated with chemical paints. When immersed, these idols don't dissolve easily and contribute to the degradation of the water's quality. The paint from these idols, often containing heavy metals like lead and mercury, dissolves in water, making it toxic and harmful to aquatic life. Another problem is noise pollution due to loud music and firecrackers during the processions and the climactic idol immersion. This excess sound disturbance can be harmful to health and disruptive for elderly people, children, and animals. The increased use of plastic and thermocol for decorations also adds to the problem of solid waste management following the end of celebrations. However, in recent years, conscious efforts are being made to mitigate these environmental impacts. Several campaigns encourage the use of natural, biodegradable materials for idol making and decorations, as well as sound-limited celebrations. The emergence of eco-friendly Ganesha celebrations is a promising sign towards maintaining the sanctity of this beloved festival while preserving the environment.

Krishna Janmashtami 2023 - A Festive Time for Family and Friends
Krishna Janmashtami 2023 - A Festive Time for Family and Friends

What is Krishna Janmashtami? Krishna Janmashtami, also known as Krishnashtami, Janmashtami, or Gokulashtami, is an annual Hindu festival commemorating Krishna's birth, Vishnu's eighth avatar. Krishna is described as the greatest deity and the origin of all incarnations in some Hindu writings, such as the Gitagovinda. In accordance with amanta and purnimanta traditions, Krishna's birth is celebrated and observed on the eighth day (Ashtami) of the dark fortnight (Krishna Paksha) in Shravana Masa or Bhadrapada Masa. The Gregorian calendar's months of August or September coincide with this. It is a significant festival, especially in the Hindu Vaishnavism tradition. The celebratory customs associated with Janmashtami include a celebration festival, reading and reciting religious texts, dance performances based on the Bhagavata Purana, devotional singing until midnight (the time of Krishna's birth), and fasting (upavasa) are just a few of the celebration customs associated with Janmashtami. It is extensively observed in India and around the world.   Table of content Significance Of Krishna Janmashtami How Is Krishna Janmashtami Celebrated? The eighth child born to Devaki and Vasudeva is Krishna. Around the time of his birth, there was a rash of persecution, freedoms were curtailed, and King Kamsa's life was in danger. Krishna was born in a prison in Mathura, India, where his uncle Kamsa held his parents captive.  A celestial voice informed Kamsa during Devaki's wedding that Devaki's eighth kid would be the reason for his demise. Kamsa imprisoned Devaki and her husband and immediately executed all of her newborns following their birth in an effort to disprove the prophecy. When Krishna was born, the guards in charge of keeping an eye on Devaki's cell fell asleep, and the cell doors magically opened. Vasudeva was able to send Krishna to his foster parents, Yashoda (loved ones) and Nanda (father), across the Yamuna River as a result of these occurrences. Along with Krishna, the avatar of Shesha incarnated on Earth as Krishna's older brother Balarama. Balarama was the first child of Vasudeva with his first wife, Rohini. On Janmashtami, people observe fasts, sing devotional songs of love for Krishna, and keep vigil until the wee hours of the morning to commemorate this legend. Krishna's newborn forms are cleaned, dressed, and then put in a cradle after his midnight delivery. The followers then share food and desserts to break their fast. Women depict Krishna's journey into their homes by drawing tiny footprints outside their kitchen doors and home entrances. How Is Krishna Janmashtami Celebrated? Hindus observe a day of fasting, communal prayer, singing, cooking and sharing of special foods, night vigils, and visits to Krishna or Vishnu temples to commemorate Janmashtami. Pilgrims travel to Mathura and Vrindavan to pay their respects. Bhagavata Purana and Bhagavad Gita recitations are held regularly at significant Krishna temples. Rasa Lila or Krishna Lila is a dance-drama performance that is organised by many northern Indian groups.  Rasa Lila is a ritual that is particularly well-liked in the Mathura region, in northeastern Indian states like Manipur and Assam, as well as in some areas of Rajasthan and Gujarat. These drama-dance plays start a few days before each Janmashtami and are performed by several teams of amateur performers who are supported by their local communities. People use lights and flowers to decorate their homes. On this day, people chant, loved onesHare Krishna hare Krishna, Krishna- Krishna Hare Hareloved ones. The Janmashtami celebration is followed by Dahi Handi, which is celebrated the next day. Here is how Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated in various parts of India, Maharashtra The state of Maharashtra, particularly the cities of Mumbai and Pune, also celebrates Janmashtami in a huge way. The Dahi Handi ritual, also known as Gokulashtami here, is the festival's main attraction and a tribute to Lord Krishna's love of butter and curd. This is where a group of young men known as the Govinda create a human pyramid in an effort to break the clay pot and spill the yoghurt. The earthen pot is suspended in the air far above (about 20 to 30 feet above the ground). Then, everyone is given this yoghurt as prasad. The Govindas are surrounded by spectators who cheer them on and occasionally even hurl buckets of water to make the ascent more difficult. The winning team receives a cash award that could be worth hundreds of thousands of rupees depending on the event's sponsors as they compete against one another to break the pot. Numerous locations throughout the city host this ritual, and at some of them even Bollywood stars make an appearance.   Gujarat   The Gujarati city of Dwarka, known as the City of Lord Krishna, also fervently observes the festival. The Dahi Handi tradition is also practised in this area, although it is known here as Makhan Handi (a pot filled with churned butter). Celebrations for the entire night start early, including a garba dance, singing of religious songs, and Raslila performances.  Fasting is also fairly typical. Dwarkadhish, a temple devoted to Lord Krishna, is the most exquisitely designed building in the nation and draws adoring visitors from all over the place. The mangal aarti, which is conducted in the morning, is the part of the festivities that everyone should attend.   Uttar Pradesh Although this day is commonly referred to as Janmashtami, the nomenclature and associated rituals vary from place to place. The state of Uttar Pradesh in northern India, notably the cities of Mathura, Krishna's birthplace, and Vrindavan, where he is thought to have spent his formative years, are the greatest places to enjoy the grandeur of the occasion. The festivities last for several weeks here. Temples are colourfully decorated, pandals (temporary tents) are erected, and Raslila performances—a folk dance-drama illustrating significant events from Krishna's life—take place in the days preceding the festival. In a ritual known as Abhishek, the idols of Krishna are anointed with milk, honey, and curd. Thereafter, the statues are dressed in fresh clothing and jewellery and set in elaborately decorated cradles. People can be heard chanting prayers and hymns in the distance.   South India The festivities are different in South India than they are in the North. For instance, in Tamil Nadu, people make Krishna's footprints and stunning artistic designs called kolam using rice batter at their front door. Young boys in Andhra Pradesh visit friends and neighbours while dressed as Krishna. Fruits and treats are initially offered to Krishna before being shared with the populace. Other widespread customs include fasting, singing devotional songs, and reciting sholkas (Sanskrit poems). Odisha and West Bengal In the eastern provinces of Odisha and West Bengal, the festival is known as Sri Krishna Jayanti or Sri Jayanti. People observe a day of fasting and recite the tenth chapter of the Bhagavata Purana until midnight to commemorate the occasion. The celebration of Nanda and Yashoda, Krishna's foster parents, begins the following morning. On this day, which is known as Nanda Utsav, worshippers offer the god Chappan bhog before breaking their fast. Manipur Fasting, scripture recitation, vigils, the Raslila dance, and visits to the well-known ISKCON and Shree Govindajee temples are all part of the festivities in Manipur.  Along with India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Fiji, Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, Singapore, and some regions of the USA also observe the festival of Krishna Janmashtami. A Friendly Guide to World Ozone Day: Celebrating Blue Skies and Bright Futures
A Friendly Guide to World Ozone Day: Celebrating Blue Skies and Bright Futures

World Ozone Day is one of those stellar opportunities to chat about something that truly matters, and yet, is often overlooked - our very own ozone layer. Held high in honor on the 16th of September every year, this day is a gentle reminder of the actions we've taken and the tasks that still lie ahead in protecting this irreplaceable shield of our planet. The Ozone Layer, Our Planet's Best Friend In the grand scheme of life, the ozone layer might seem like a simple layer in our stratosphere. But my friends, allow me to say, it's much more than that! Best imagined as Earth's pair of sunglasses, it filters out most of the Sun's harmful ultraviolet radiation, protecting every ray of life blossoming beneath it. Tracing the Roots: The Birth of World Ozone Day World Ozone Day is not just a random selection on the calendar. This memorable date marks the signing of the Montreal Protocol in 1987 - a monumental moment that brought countries together to wave goodbye to ozone-depleting substances. From then onward, we celebrate this special day to uplift the spirit of collective environmental responsibility. Chlorofluorocarbons: Friend turned Foe It's often said that the worst enemies are those whom we once considered friends. In the case of our ozone layer, chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) play that tricky part. Enjoying quite a sparkling reputation in the 20th century for their use in a wide range of products, these chemicals turned out to be the dark horse that harmed the ozone layer, creating what we now refer to as the 'ozone holes'. World Ozone Day: A Global Fiesta World Ozone Day symbolizes more than a circle on our annual planner. It's a wake-up call, encouraging each one of us to play a vital role in championing the cause of the ozone layer. Governments, educational establishments, eco-warriors, all band together to raise the banner of ozone preservation But hear this right - World Ozone Day isn't exclusive to headline makers. Every little hand that turns off unnecessary lights, every voice that promotes ozone-friendly products, has the power to make a big difference. So let's make every day, an Ozone Day! Ozone Recovery: A Journey of Hope As we glance at our accomplishments, World Ozone Day should also serve as a beacon, guiding us towards future challenges. With climate change clouding over us, the journey to ozone recovery is just getting started. Yet, we look ahead with hope. Encouraging reports show a healing ozone layer, clear signs that our positive efforts are making a difference. Each World Ozone Day reaffirms human tenacity, and our endeavors to safeguard Earth's precious resources. Celebrating World Ozone Day, let's pledge to thrive towards a future, where life flourishes under safe blue skies, where celebrating nature's beauty isn't a luxury, but an ever-lasting reality. Remember, protecting our ozone layer is more than a responsibility—it’s our chance to write an environmental legacy we can be proud of!

Kundali Bhagya Episode Written Update (13th of December 2022)

The 13th December 2022 episode of Kundali Bhagya starts with Arjun exiting the shower. Anjali questions him about why he is putting an open challenge in front of the Luthra family, but Arjun ignores her and asks whether she will back him. Arjun's insistence irritates Anjali, who declares that what he did was wrong. To make Rishabh feel the sting of loss, Arjun says to Anjali that he wants to assault him from the front this time. Arjun tells Anjali that he is setting up his calendar for the next seven days and will email a screenshot of each day to Preeta as he gets his phone. When Arjun eventually asks Anjali if she will support him, she responds in the affirmative. Rishabh recalls all the instances where Arjun unexpectedly appeared to assist Preeta at Luthra House. Even though Preeta continuously warned him that Arjun's vibe is hostile and that it appears as though he wants to exact retribution, Rishabh thinks to himself that he still didn't pay heed to her.Arjun questions Anjali about the preparations he requested her to do late at night. Anjali asks Arjun about his strategy, and he responds that he has chosen to attack the Luthra office building first. At midnight, Rishabh summons Mahesh and Sameer to his room and requests their assistance in reviewing the empire's prior years' financial records. Since the Luthra family has continuously operated cautiously, Mahesh inquires why Rishabh is taking this action. Rishabh replies that this is because he is well familiar with Arjun. He claims that Arjun would target their corporate empire because he knows how much effort, time, and money they have put into their work to live respectably.Mahesh would respond to Rishabh since Arjun believes they are too reserved to comprehend his psyche. Preeta notices that Arjun is flooding her forehead and awakens from her dream. As Rishabh enters the room and turns on the lights, she panics and reaches for a glass of water. He sits next to Preeta and regrets ignoring her advice to avoid Arjun.Asserting that they did the right thing by finally expelling Arjun from their hearts and home, Rishabh tells her not to worry. While Rishabh settled into a sleeping position on the sofa, Preeta grinned sluggishly. Like this, Arjun is awake and stands close to the window, staring at the moon, claiming that his only goal is to exact revenge on Preeta and Rishabh for what they did to him. Arjun, meanwhile, notices tears welling up in his eyes and wonders if someone close to him is grieving through his eyes while Preeta sobs herself to sleep while thinking of Karan.Mahesh tells everyone the following morning that he is heading to the office to get ready in case Arjun does something. Rakhi shakes her head disapprovingly as Dadi interjects, asking everyone why they can't just assault Arjun immediately rather than wait to see what he does. In another scene, Priyanka asks Anjali why she gets weak for Arjun, to which Anjali responds that Priyanka won't comprehend her predicament until she has fallen in love. As soon as Arjun overhears their chat, he asks Anjali whether everything is prepared because Rishabh will be held accountable for something significant today, causing all of Luthra's shares to collapse.Anjali remarks favourably and then inquires about Arjun's attire. While Priyanka anxiously begs Anjali not to allow him to marry Preeta because Preeta can also get influenced by his get affected gorgeous face, Arjun dismissively says that she looks the same and departs. Anjali argues that his attractive appearance is not the issue; instead, his golden heart may make anyone fall in love with him. Rakhi claims at Luthra House that she does not want Rishabh to assault Arjun first because she wants to bury whatever remaining feelings of love she may still harbour for him.Rakhi can quickly exclude Arjun from her fragile heart and the worse things he does. Rishabh informs Rakhi that Arjun needs to learn a lesson because the world is not as affectionate as Preeta is a good-hearted person, and with this, the episode ends.
