The music to the movie, "Naatu Naatu," by MM Keeravani, won the Best Original Song Award at the 95th Academy Awards, which are now taking place in Los Angeles, California. 'Applause' from Tell It Like a Woman, 'Hold My Hand' from Top Gun: Maverick, 'Lift Me Up' from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and 'This is Life' from Everything Everywhere All At Once were the songs competed against. According to sources, the song "Naatu Naatu" from the Telugu-language film RRR won Best Original Song at the 95th Academy Awards in 2023, making it the first Indian film song to win an Oscar. The composer of the song, M.M. Keeravaani, accepted the award and performed the song on stage. The song beat out other heavy hitters in the category, including Lady Gaga and Rihanna. Pather Panchali  Pather Panchali is a 1955 Indian Bengali-language drama film written and directed by Satyajit Ray and produced by the Government of West Bengal. Sunil Dutt, Shashi Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Shatrughan Sinha, Rakhee Gulzar, Parveen Babi, Bindiya Goswami, Johnny Walker, and Kulbhushan Kharbanda star in the film. The plot revolves around Vijay (Bachchan) and Ravi (Kapoor), who promise to avenge their brother DSP Shiv Kumar's (Dutt) death, as well as Rakesh (Sinha), a circus artist with ties to the killer Shakaal.
